With Hartley coming, I think signs point to Martinez being hired. Harley was a defensive grad assistant under Martinez.
If Hartley's made the DB coach and/or Martinez is brought in to fill a prominent role on the defensive staff, it'll be an enormous and immediate red flag.
agree, but I can't see Hartley just being a special teams coach. Wouldn't mind Martinez as a db coach but not as a dc
You're probably right, but I want nothing to do with Hartley having a prominent role on the defensive staff. I don't care about his prior experience at a program like Marshall. Miami should be above elevating someone from grad assistant to possible DB coach after fielding the most disastrous defenses in the history of the program.
Three men who were head coaches last year have been hired on D.J. Durkin's staff at Maryland. We should be able to do far better than making a UGA grad assistant who has never been a position coach at a Power 5 program (aside from being an interim fill-in for one bowl game) our new DB coach.
