Todd Grantham

Grantham's defense in SEC play gave up 30 PPG. He's one of the very few coordinators, who gets raises, even though his defenses get worse the longer he's at a school. We may struggle on offense in the first game, but that will say more about us, than Grantham

Everybody knows a true fan spends their time analyzing their team for weaknesses and scans opponents for strengths and then posts about how because of that their team is going to lose.

Next time someone considers a thread like this they should ask themselves if Manny Diaz would ever post something like this. WWMD?

Go back to Gator country for pointing out a real hurdle for us?

And if you look at footballinsiders stats, Todd has many top 15 defenses. Just hope the OL is ready to roll.

Grantham
2018 Florida = 17th
2017 Miss St = 18th
2016 Louisville = 15th
2015 Louisville = 21st
2014 Louisville = 9th
2013 Georgia = 33rd
2012 Georgia = 15th
2011 Georgia = 3rd
2010 Georgia = 36th

Aranda
2018 LSU = 5th
2017 LSU = 8th
2016 LSU = 2nd
2015 Wisconsin = 4th
2014 Wisconsin = 15th
2013 Wisconsin = 11th
2012 Utah = 12th
2011 Hawaii = 80th
2010 Hawaii = 58th

Diaz
2018 Miami = 14th
2017 Miami = 16th
2016 Miami = 11th
2015 Miss St = 42nd
2014 La Tech = 64th
2013 Texas = 23rd
2012 Texas = 43rd
2011 Texas = 15th
2010 Miss St = 35th
So basically every year the defense drops huge tbh in his second year

He is going to be a big problem for us. Much in the same way Aranda was.

I just don’t see how we overcome this disadvantage. It’s unrealistic to expect Enos to have this offense humming in the 1st game on the road.

Someone tell me they lost 9 starters on defense.

And yet, if Rosier had just been able to hit wide open WRs, we would have had succsss against Aranda...with Richt’s offense.

Enos has faced Grantham before. Yes he's a decent defensive coordinator but let's not crown the guy. His defense gave up 25 points per game vs SEC competition. The gators had to come from behind vs vandy and scarolina in the 4th. His d gave up 30 plus points in 3 straight games as well.

I'm sure they will be ready for us but I think we can cause more problems for them than they can for us. They can only study Enos past offenses and look at our players but they have no clue the types of packages, looks, motions and personnel we are going to throw at them.

The problem for UF is Franks might get knocked out of this game early. They have no OL and our D is going to feast. I just don't see how UF is going to move the ball. On the other side they have no idea what Enos is going to throw at them. I see a lot in favor of UM in this matchup.

No offense to Aranda. He's one of the top DCs in the country but it wasn't rocket science stopping Richt's prehistoric offense with Rosier at QB. Also Grantham isn't on Aranda's level.
I worry about any decent SEC team's front 7 - but let's not forget Aranda also had a secret weapon; our punter who shortened the field and allowed him to call a D with a nice lead.

Grantham is a good DC but not as good as Aranda or LSU as a whole. Our o line will have its hands full but we have studs everywhere on offense and they have no way to truly prepare for us. TG loves to blitz so if Enos can counteract that well and we play a clean game, decent special teams/avoiding turnovers, I love our chances. LSU last year was a much tougher matchup IMO.

Preach. Literally it was mentioned during the game how Aranda easily dissected our offense and I believe on the pick 6 they showed him devilishly grinning. Richt’s offense made every defense look all world.

Y'all boys wild. Grantham not no world beating DC but he's a really good DC who coaches up his talent well. His D will be a problem but if Enos is as good as Manny says he is we should give there defense fits all game. Think our biggest disadvantage is that it's our 1st game with a new offense.

No offense but S&P is the kenpom of CFB. It takes into account opponents, garbage time stats, etc. It’s advanced stuff.

And as far as Diaz’s defenses go, of course I think UF is worried about trying to move the ball on our D. Manny is a great DC. This thread wasn’t about him though.

I was merely pointing out that Grantham is a pretty solid DC who’s defense could be a real problem for us.

It’s also worth noting that the Bengals went after Grantham. Todd has many years in the NFL as a DL/asst Coach.

I remember when this board ripped into posters who were worried about Aranda’s defense. They ran the same BS lines that some of you do - “we’re gonna destroy Aranda. Go back to the LSU boards.”

Y’all can’t even have a legit discussion about our opponents without getting sensitive.

He didn’t stop our offense. We had wide open guys running all over the field the entire night.

We just had a QB that couldn’t deliver a basic throw.
