To the tape watchers, regarding OL?

Enough moping. Let's see some improvement form our guys today. Max needs to clean up his pass pro reps, Ryan needs to snap more consistently and find the 2nd level, Cantwell needs to play faster and more violent, and let's get some reps for Big Ben Congdon. I'd like to see Woodrow.

Put SJ on jockstrap cleaning duty

He looked better at guard than SJ and that’s whose job he needs to take.
 
The guards will be fine. This staff has developed nothing but NFL caliber offensive linemen. Since 2023, only three players who have started for Miami have gone undrafted: Javion Cohen, Zach Carpenter, and James Brockermeyer, and two of those guys played center, a position that historically gets drafted less frequently.

Now Samson and McCoy are both getting legitimate draft buzz. This staff has consistently developed offensive linemen at a very high level, so there’s ZERO reason to panic over the guards right now. Give them time to develop and let the track record speak for itself.

They tried.

Seaton chose LSU, and Kinsler left.

Meriweather was one of the better options at that point.
 
I wanna see Merroweather get healthy so we can see what he can do, TBH.
Woodrow... Give him reps.we were spoiled so much with Cici, we think baptizing Cantwell by fire is a good move, but it's a double edged sword, but I think him next to Pancake would be edit him a lot more.
SJ needs to go to the Jason Kelce center camp or sumn. Prototype center build, but can't snap for ****. 🤦🏿‍♂️🤦🏿‍♂️🤦🏿‍♂️

Slim pickings out there.

Outside of Seaton, there weren't a lot of clear upgrades. I understand choosing to lean on internal development.
 
I already know we run extremely tight splits. But what is up with the guards being in a two point stance? Isn’t that pretty odd?

Yep...way too much overreacting to one four quarter stretch of ball.

Rodriguez, SJ, Buchanan each had moments last week that caused concern, and the immediate reaction here is to bench them all in favor of some true freshmen. The 2026 OL simply won't be dominant but is likely to be very good and improved as the weeks go by. That unit was never going to look great right away.

Same issue with Damari Brown. Has he been perfect? No. Has his career been this monumental disaster? Hardly. He was playing quite well last year before getting injured, and now we've given up on him based on his first live game reps in about 9 months.

Aight so we’re gona pretend that not one solid starting tackle or guard, in the nation, would have been willing to portal to a school known for o line that just went to the ship? Not one lineman in the portal or one willing to hop in the portal for us would have been a better option then going back to young centers at guard?

I think they were cool with what they had and it might’ve been a mistake. We’ll see.

I still think this lineup can work out I’m just really surprised they didn’t go and get an experienced starter to solidify
