What would even equal power mean for someone acting essentially as football AD? Doesn’t make much sense hire wise so knowing us it’s definitely true

Yeah, it doesn't make sense.

I don't know about this arrangement.

I would like Highsmith to be the AD. In that role, he can hire and fire the coach and his assistants and organize the football program including the recruiting.

In a COS role, I like his expertise in talent evaluation, but you can't make a COS equal to the coach in regards to recruiting players or choosing assistant coaches. You gotta let the coach make the recruiting and staff choices otherwise you get what you had with Strawley. Someone with their own agenda sabotaging the coach. or at lest not giving him the full opportunity to play out his vision.

I realize its Manny at coach and I don't feel comfortable with his choices, nor am I confident that he will succeed, but you gotta let him sink or swim on his own. What Miami needs is someone at AD really to make the hard changes needed after next season should Manny fail.

What about Lingard?

So let's say Lingard decides he wants back in, but other players say they don't want quitters. Would you have a problem with that? Personally I think Diaz needs to tell JW, Martell, Lingard, and Pope to take a hike. Even though Perry is a bonehead, as far as I know he hasn't made noise about transferring. So he can stay. I actually think he'd be a good fit in a spread offense. More accurate than Martell and better runner than JW. His decision making is terrible, but the spread look should make it much easier on him.

I was actually trying to be funny. I guess I didn't do a very good job. Lol.
