TNM: We're 4-4 but Keyshaun Sniff is focused on his dance routine

I hope he does too obviously. I mean he better bring it on Saturday after saying something like this.

If we had a better record maybe this wouldn't bother me so much. Those teams from the 80s I'm sure had all kinds of pre-coreographed celebrations. But they weren't going 4-4! They were winning ships!
As long as he produces
He can strip for all I care

Another thing is this kid banked on himself by choosing Miami and moving across country fron San Diego to Coral Gables where you know many people criticize him for that decision and now hes proving people wrong.
And likens can also recruit
This is what happens when you can recruit
You get as many top local guys as u can then go outside to cherry pick

Good lord man, what happened to your acting career?

Even your batshlt crazy brother has done way better than you the last 30 years.

Are you just doing like local theaters in the round to make a little scratch?
When The Mighty Ducks 4 comes out on Disney+ you'll be sniffing my jockstraps once again. Either that or Another Night at the Roxbury. SPOILER ALERT: I'm gonna make an actual cameo this time 😂. With a little luck I'll even be in The U part 3.

Keyshawn Smith is the most talented WR on the roster & plays hard every snap.

There’s nothing wrong with him having fun, you’re way off the mark here OP.
LCE I respect and appreciate your insights and inputs so I’m directly this at you (plus I think you’re a coach as well so your opinion carries some weight)

Ok disclaimer aside, I agree with OP and I also agree everything you said and question for you is where does awareness factor in? We are 4 and 4, one of the worst defenses in the country, a cloud above the AD and head coach and question marks around the teams future.

Plus with this place and Twitter Its hard to believe the team does not already know how hated the td rings and dancing and all that **** is.

When pro guys mouth off about their celebrations (joe horn, TO, chad Johnson) they are usually on winning teams and even then it is never overly popular.

Where is the awareness? We are 4-4 and the only solid (blow out) win was against ccsu. This is where I’m with OP, just shut the **** up and play ball.

All that said, I did not read read the article so this is all conjecture based on a headline most likely written by an editor, this reeks of a PR attempt to try to reel fans in and calm the flames. I just cannot imagine leading an interview about his touchdown dance being his idea.

These interviews are not random, at worst you get a heads up from someone in the athletic department and they also give you a list of things not to say and what to avoid and at Miami’s level the interview is probably vetted afterwards

LCE I get everything you said but you have to admit the optics are the season we are having

You guys are asking players to take on the responsibility of coaches & blaming players for coaches failures.

Celebration is apart of the game, always been & always will be. You guys are essentially upset that players would want to celebrate despite us having a losing season, but if you understand the difficulty of the game you know why they celebrate.

The season is not on the players, the coaches have failed them & the recent wins they’ve had have been in spite of the coaching staff & not because of them.

What you guys want is a team full of kids who just play hard & keep quiet, I guess if they were cyborgs or if this were the 1950’s yall would have a point, but again the anger is misdirected.

The players are giving their all & playing the best they can while being lead by an incompetent & inept Head Coach, so if they celebrate when they win it’s because they know how hard it was for them to get to that point.

At this point in the season everybody’s back is against the wall, it’s Them against the world, so they’re going to rally around each other & play for each other, which means when things go well they’re going to be happy about it because their way is what’s working. When they were doing it the other way, they were losing.

The fans don’t dictate to players how the players feel, you guys may hate when they celebrate or hate when they show any emotion at all, but they don’t give AF what yall think, they’re not playing for yall.

Especially when let's be real most likely they think the fans and alums are more against them weekly then trying to uplift then

I may not have phrased my point (and OP, if I can speak for him) right. It’s not the celebration, **** as embarrassing as it was I was celebrating with each td scored against FIU in the 4th qtr hoping we pulled it off, it’s the article. It’s the premeditation/bragging, it gives a vibe that the season is a joke to the players and reinforces the old prima Donna stereotype of players only caring about themselves.

Thanks for responding. Your response illustrates ALOT of frustration and I get that it. I still feel like a PR/staff pushed this but I can see how a player when presented with an interview with everything going on just says I know me and my boys can play, **** the bull**** I’m gonna ball and promise to put on a show cuz in their bubble it’s them against everyone. Yea, I get it…..I’m going to read the article to get the full context but the way you put it…still think bad optics but I can understand the mindset

The celebrating after a big play or win and even the planning of it doesn't bother me that much (just don't overdo it obviously).

What bothers me is the announcement of it before the game, especially when your team is 4-4. I find that immature and uncalled for. And I agree with you, it shows a lack of awareness (or worse, an indifference) about where your team is at.

I would add that as a WR it puts a target on your back. If I'm a GT DB and I hear you said that before the game, you know gonna try to pop you the first chance I get.

I don't recall any podcasts with Eddie Brown/Michael Irvin/Brian Blades when they were at UM.
Those would have been legendary. I would think LT or Thrill would have been the best.

Rob Bailey would have been the most frightening. When he got interviewed I was afraid of my TV.
