Also 0 was held by the SMU safety on that same play

I watched that frame by frame several times and I guess someone will have to educate me as to how Bell was holding on that play. He kept his feet moving, stayed in front, stayed inside the DEs pads, and didn’t hook or pull the jersey. Maybe I just don’t know WTF I’m talking about. But it certainly wasn’t as blatant as the DPI on the same play, which looked like an intentional effort to stop a sure TD.The hold was actually on Bell.
Refs will sometimes call holding on an OLineman if they think he tackled the rusher & didn't allow him to get up.
So maybe they got the # wrong, but the actual hold on that play was by #70.
There is no conspiracy.
We lost because our QB threw a pick in OT at the 1yd line because he can't read DB's on In-cutting routes & routinely underthrows his WR's allowing for the route to be undercut.
Always follow the money. What I don’t understand is why the ACC would want to mess with Miami? Why would they want one of the flagship programs, from a national standpoint, to lose in favor of school like Virginia or SMU? The whole point of Miami joining the ACC was so the conference could try to have Miami-Florida State conference championship games.
The conference is lucky Clemson had a run of national championship appearances, and a couple titles.
Not that anything the ACC does makes any sense.
He was looking like a heisman finalist top 10 QB prospect after FSU & tanked it the very next game we prolly would’ve actually beat Louisville with Emory Williams startingI was hoping Beck would be better. Man has his draft stock dropped.
OK, but isn’t there to be made by an ACC led by Miami and Florida State teams of 20+ years ago. A good Miami team bringing better ratings than almost any other ACC team unless that other ACC team is playing a big opponent, specifically if the opponent is an SEC blue blood.Always follow the money.
It makes perfect sense if the refs are on the take or have money in the game.
This is not the first or last time officiating crews have been rigging games.

Refs mix up numbers on plays regularly. So they mixed up two very similar numbers, 61 and 70? Nah.
We didn’t lose because of this play. I made that very clear. But it’s pretty insane this was called, especially at this point in the game.
The ACC powers would drool all over themselves if they were able to get a Miami-Florida State ACC championship game to rival the games from the glory years. They dream about having matchups like the SEC had with Alabama-Georgia.Refs mix up numbers on plays regularly.
They threw a flag because they determined that one of the Linemen were holding, they got the wrong lineman, but there was a hold on that play.
And if we're to go further into this non-conspiracy conspiracy, why would the ACC want us to lose to SMU on the road given we're the much bigger draw than any other program in the conference?
Our games get the highest viewership & we make the conference the most money of any team, why would they deliberately take us out of ACC & playoff contention?
The ACC would rather for the storied powerhouses of Virginia, Louisville & Georgia Tech to be one of the representatives in the playoffs over Miami?
Why would they chose on the road @ 5-3 SMU to ***** us over & not @ home vs Notre Dame? Or on the road vs FSU?
What significance does SMU have to ACC over Miami?
Bro- I am fully aware that you are a smart football guy- much smarter than i am. But come the **** on. Tackles have Bain in a rear naked choke 7-10 times a game and he has drawn 1 or 2 holds all season. If thats holding than SMU should have been called for holding 20+ times in that game.Refs mix up numbers on plays regularly.

The whole point of Miami joining the ACC was to allow us to be just good enough to draw eyeballs while also neutering us so that other teams in the ACC can raid our home grown talent. What the ACc didn’t count on was Ohio State and the SEC out bidding them for those players. Teh elite sofla ballers were supposed to go to FSU, Clemson, and UNCWhat I don’t understand is why the ACC would want to mess with Miami?
