I agree. I didn't sense Golden was in real trouble until last night. None of the previous games surprised me. Just the opposite. You're supposed to lose at Louisville. That team allows 4 yards per play. It's a clamp game, just like in college basketball on the road against a team allowing 63 points or less. That's an entirely different universe than opposing a team allow 64 or 65 or higher. It may not seem like much but if you study the numbers for decades it's not similar at all. Those 64 or 65 teams might allow you to waltz for 75 on their court while the 61 or 62 team might clamp you to 48. No different in football with the programs allowing 4 yards per play. It's **** on their home field unless you are special.
Nebraska has enough athletes and runs smack at you 50+ times. That's a negative expectancy given the current state of our program.
Georgia Tech is on our level and their defense is so weak it should translate to a win. I expected to get out of there with something like a 31-24 or 31-27 victory. It did help them to have a bye week preceding. Oh, how I miss those bye weeks before we joined this conference. Our schedule was wonderfully set up for more than 2 decades, allowing favorable scenarios for big games so often. Only rarely did we ***** it up, like back to back against Florida State and Penn State in 1992, barely escaping both.
