Tim Reynolds on the AD Search

Tim is a actually a good guy and good reporter. This would have come from someone who knows. Tells me they have a short list and interviews are set and going on. BTW, on coach it is interesting that someone is leaking Dorsey. Might be in the mix as OC and asst HC, but can’t see him getting the job. He does know Cristobal pretty well.

I know a lot of anticipation about a new coach including me. Just surprised not more discussion about new AD today. In grand scheme that just as important if not more important than new coach.

IF you think this then you clearly have not read on his life after he left here.....Dude runs an asset management firm...one worth 40+mil. I think that qualifies. After all, athletics in sports are ASSETS.
Another underrated endeavor is his broadcasting company Touchdown Sports that he does on the side. He also is a color analyst. As he prepares for games how many contacts among players and coaching circles does he make as he researches the teams on his broadcasts?

From an emotional standpoint it’s a slam dunk for Mario.

But successful people don’t get there by following emotions. Failing at Miami after being a step away from the playoffs can be damaging to his aura as a coach and hinder advancement in the future if he fails here.

Mario is in a very good position but also knows he has a huge obstacle to recruiting and he’s going to have to win a ring if he’s going to be winning battles against jimbo Saban and Kirby.
If Kirby wins this year that state is on lockdown and now you have to compete with Saban and Kirby for Florida and Georgia kids. Not to mention if uf hires a good coach

So if he wants to do that while here he is going to want to have as much control over his team as possible. Gino coming here and knowing the same people he knows is security and trust.

It’s one thing to write something on a contract but it’s a huge deal if the person who is in charge of carrying out your stipulations is one of your boys.

You have to imagine the the entire cfb media landscape is literally gonna call him an idiot if he bounces out of Eugene.

He’s gonna want to be 100 percent sure that everyone he has to deal with he can 100 percent trust and is on the same page and knows exactly what has to be done.

Again just my opinion.

You mean the media that says UM is broke, can't attract recruits because it doesn't have an on-campus stadium, and still has 1980s-era facilities? That media is going to call Cristobal an idiot for leaving Oregon just like 2 of their last 3 HCs?

I know that Mario gives 2 fcks about the media. But it’s just gonna be the narrative that’s gonna be spun
adding more drama to the situation.

Willie taggart didn’t have Oregon at the current spot their in. And fsu had a squad full of really good recruiting classes (on paper). So At the time taggert bounced fsu was considered to be in a better spot than we are right now. And Oregon wasn’t about to build even more gigantic sht for the team like they are now.

You know that old joke about guys driving big cars to compensate for having a micro *****? That's what Oregon is doing right now
