Waters barely played as a raw freshman. I don't see how his freshman year which was mostly spent on special teams should be some indicator of his career trajectory. All Herb did was account for 6 total TDs in 9 games as a sophomore with Coley on the roster and another WR who had the best statistical season in Miami history.

Once again, I'm not saying he sucks... He definitely does not suck... He is a solid player... Someone used his 40 time as an indicator that Tim Irvin or Quan Johnson 40 time means nothing... I refuted that claim that Herb hasn't done anything of note on a consistent basis... He's solid and showed flashes but he hasn't done much consistently for him to be used as an example... The 6 tds was great but I was hoping he stepped it up a notch after Dorsett and Scott went down... He didn't do that on a consistent basis...

However, I always say "as of now"... Hopefully he shows up more consistently and not just against inferior opponents and blowouts... His best game was Duke but we didn't hear from after that game unless he was hurt but I thought he played against Pitt as well and didn't accumulate any stats...

Im not saying he is the next andre johnson, the kid is a playmaker, if you have time go back and watch the games, watch how morris doesnt scan the field and see who is open, the wake game where herb had a TD pass, he could of had two more if morris just looked in his direction, the USF game again had a TD grab, could have had another one morris overthrew him, in the duke gane herb was open on multiple hitches and slants and morris didnt throw to him, the kid would have had a great out year if we had a smart QB taking snaps

Lol we got ppl in here complaining about consistent WR production when for the past 2 years our QB was Snickers Morris

Jessusssss TAKE OFF THE GLASSES

  • Says the attention means a lot to him and his family that the hometown school is after him hard
  • Says the coaches tell him he can be the Duke Johnson of this class
  • Says they tell him he can be a good safety and help the defense
  • Says the players tell him there is no place like Miami and it's great to play for your hometown
  • On Miami: Says it's the hometown...says he likes the environment and the atmosphere...says the coaches are real cool
  • Clemson and USCw recently offered and both schools want him to visit this summer
  • Planning on visits over the summer
  • Says he's looking at the environment, the culture, and the weather
  • Says he plans on taking his time with his decision, after he takes his summer visits then he'll see

Not impressive numbers at all. But the kid can sure play.

Sammy Watkins ran a 4.21 shuttle at the combine, and it impressed the **** out of everyone.

He's not Berrios quick, but then again, only a handful of athletes in the past decade are that quick.

Don't get caught up in 40 times.
Dismissing 16 year old kids because they don't run 4.4 is very naive. Artie Burns ran a 4.5 40 time and nobody is saying he's a slow corner.
His 4.6 means he's a fraction slower than Ha Ha Clinton Dix's 4.5 at the combine, and Irvin is nowhere near his peak physical development.

Remember, these kids aren't trying to make it in the NFL, they are 16-17 year old kids.

I'm not dismissing the kid at all. I wrote his numbers aren't impressive but he can sure play. The kid is an absolute football player regardless of his height, weight, speed, etc. He is absolutely one of the best kids in Dade. Kid's a great player and I would love him in this class. Like you said it's not all about the numbers.

Morris ran a 4.5 something at the combine but was slow in the pocket and on the field. I'd take Peyton Manning's mobility in the pocket any day over his.
