I don’t know if this story is legit but this former Green Beret says he was involved with a regime change op in Venezuela (that sounded like the plot of Clear and Present Danger). Allegedly there was a CIA op of their own to undermine it and potentially hurt Trump in 2020

Aye. The military - especially Special Operators - were used as CIA manpower - and you may recall that under Trumps prior administration - he stopped that.

No more "easing around the legality/command structure" to man their operations. Trump cut that. HE'S the Commander in Chief. Not the CIA's personal military specialists.

Finishing up reading Echo in Ramadi tonight...probably the 10th Iraq/Afghan military memoir in the past year. I'd say The Outpost by Jake Tapper is my favorite, really in-depth about northern Afghanistan and Camp Keating (terrible spot for an outpost) and the individual troops' stories.

Thanks to those that post in this thread. I like popping in to see the elite of the elite. My cousin was AF like me. He was a JTAC that deployed with some of these units. I was a puss and chose the warheads on foreheads route. My uncle was a ranger. All the other men in my family did normal military service like me. While we’re sipping our bourbon and eating our burgers we need to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. The country isn’t perfect, but it’s the best option we’ve ever had. The beacon on the hill is still alive and well.

To the fallen.
