Tickets still available for Miami vs. Notre Dame

seats in my section were going for 1000 each when i checked yesterday.

Yeah, 100 level is still insane and club even worse. But those are dropping as well, just obviously not under $200. For the first time literally since any tickets were put on StubHub, upper level has dropped under $200 as of this morning. There were zero tickets on the secondary market under $200 as of late last night. Now there are. Get-in price is dropping.

Cheapest in the 100 level right now is $326, which are in the corner.

300 a ticket not including parking food etc is a hard price for families. come on man. its not worth going to games anymore (i am a STH so ill be there) when income is limited and everything costs a lot more than it did (including housing (insurance, property taxes, utilities) when you can watch for free at home with all your comforts.

My man...it's only this price at the last minute. The remaining tickets, are mostly along the sidelines (up high, but still).

Let's break this down. Cheapest ticket is $234. Not a bargain-basement price, but still 20% less than "$300 a ticket". At the last minute. For a Top-10-matchup.

Not everyone needs to go. Hard Rock holds 65,000. Let's say Notre Dame buys 10K tickets, which is about 15% of the capacity. That means we only have to sell 55K seats. The Miami-FTL MSA is the 7th largest in the country. Over 6 million people. There's a recent article talking about how Gables Estates is now the wealthiest neighborhood in the country, outpacing Beverly Hills.

People don't have to go to all 8 home games. It's one game. A huge game. If there is ever a time to spend $234 per ticket for a UM game, this is the one.

I comment solely on the price of a single ticket, and the need for parking.

If your situation is such that you absolutely have to pay for other people's tickets, concessions, etc, then that will add up very quickly.

I do not envy people in that situation.

Top 10 matchup to start the season in a big rivalry game. $300 a ticket doesn’t seem high, like at all.
I'm going with a buddy to the Clemson / LSU game before I fly down for the ND game. Two tickets and parking to that game (lower level near the goal line) was $1,400.

I bet the following week's game at Clemson, the same tickets would be 400 for the pair.

the wealthiest people dont give a flying **** bout the canes esp with the way the entire area has changed post covid. these are just people looking for tax havens and moved addresses for that plus the weather not college football. more than likely, the gables residents who want to attend already have their tickets and arent relying on the last minute seats that UM just released to attend. you know that as well.

234 a ticket just isnt sustainable given the average income for the residents of the community miami is in (the fans arent the wealthy but the local ones who income limited). you want a sell out for this game plus others? start marketing and pricing games that make it easier for local families to attend (who grew up watching the canes).

im in club. tickets on the secondary market always drop for every game no matter where it is closer to the event. even for the SMU game im going to, im kicking myself for putting the request in through UM.

the only ticket in SFL recently that didnt drop significantly before game time were the panthers playoff tickets. those were cheaper when they released through the presale codes than secondary market, but the panthers are now tied with the heat as the best sports team in modern day SFL history (80s UM and 70s Fins predate modern).

FOMO is real. The game will be sold out… no doubt in my mind. The **** CISers ***** about…. Never ceases to amaze me!

Just keep that energy for Sunday night and enjoy the sold out rabid atmosphere. I, for one, can’t wait!
it wont be fully sold out (i think UM drops those ticekts to the secondary market), but itll still be really packed.

the only games we really sell out is FSU and UF (even UF in 13 wasnt sold out). those are the only ones really because of the local area fans and alumni from those schools.

clemson SC and baton rouge LA is far cheaper COL wise than SFL.
Lol. No ****. Now compare salaries in those cities. Or metro population. And not everyone that goes to games lives where the game is played.

I get it, there are a ton of factors at play that are reasons for why Miami will never sell the same way the SEC/B1G schools do. But $300 for a game like this is nowhere close to something people should be complaining about if you’re a fan of a major college program. Fans of those schools make going to a big game their major expense/vacation for an entire year. People that have no ties to the school other than happening to have been born in a 200 mile radius. It’s just a different mindset.

the salaries in SFL arent high on average. you make the same in miami as you do in orlando or tampa or even Gainesville. the only ones making more are the ones who held their OOS income from NYC, SF and moved down here

Why are we comparing to Orlando or Tampa now? I thought we were talking Clemson and Baton Rouge?

The point is there is a lot of wealth in Miami. There are a ton of people in Miami. Every time Miami gets clowned for having 17k in the stadium against Bethune people say it’s an event town, but now there’s an event and it’s not sold out 5 days from kickoff. Can we just admit this fanbase is not the same level of obsessed as those elsewhere? There’s nothing wrong with it, but the goalposts keep moving.

There is a massive difference between what the price is on the secondary market and the price the school sets for the tickets. Which, btw, school prices influence the secondary market prices because resellers want to make money.

Go look at LSU vs Florida in two weeks. You can go to the LSU website right now and get upper decks tickets for $150, basically half the cost of what UM is selling them for. This is a game that is very similar to ours, in terms of national impact and exposure, and those fan bases are way more rabid than ours when it comes to attendance. I said earlier, Dolphin vs Patriots in two weeks, $150 for upper deck.

The school has made it very clear the last few years that it prioritizes higher ticket prices because it thinks it can maximize revenue that way rather than focusing on filling the stadium. The school should have a dual mandate to earn maximum revenue while filling the stadium.

I have 2 season tix in the Club Section as well. Great value. However, both of my boys are flying in for the game, so I was short one ticket. I bought a solo club seat (one section over) for $250. At the time of purchase, similarly situated club seats for fetching between $600 - $900 per ticket on the secondary market. Nuts.

It really doesn’t matter if other schools charge $300 or more for tickets. Miami’s ticket office should know their market better. If a team has people lining up to pay $300 for nose bleed seats, then by all means, charge $300. If your team struggles to sell out games, maybe trying to milk them $300 for nosebleed seats isn’t a great move. Miami athletic department waaay overestimating their value again.
