I'd like to see Diaz get at least one more year because I see what he has done right and see him adjust and fix what is wrong. Just two years is insulting and lame. I'm hoping he can still have the power to get a quality DC. I'm hoping he still has the conviction of recruits to take a chance on the U. He has given us TVD, Garcia, Knighton and our future should be bright. Yet I get laughed at for suggesting he has not had enough time to show what he is driving towards. No one can doubt he loves his job, no one can deny he has been innovative, no one can deny we are a few points from a very successful season. I dread what might be missed by simply giving him one more year, after all we've waited 20 already and now we want to try the same thing that has failed us....how many head coaches do we try before we have that perfect coach. Rome wasn't built in a day! How many great coaches succeeded in two years?
Here is what I want Diaz to do. Fire himself as DC, with the new funds find the best DC on the planet, fire Patke, start leaking who he wants off the portal, build bigger depth at RB and for goodness sake...get some decent LB's. All doable except his future is in doubt which makes most of this difficult. Maybe a new AD will recognize the good in him and pull back. That is if he actually wants to work with the current system and criticisms. Fortunately all the critique has been external and the administration did get rid of a lame AD. Diaz is NOT the problem, yes his inexperience was but he is a quick learner and we've invested 2 years why not one more? Let reason prevail!

Now I'd like legitimate discussion as to why he doesn't deserve more time. Not just fraggle is nuts, fraggle is Diaz...nonsense, I've been around since Grassy started this forum. I've seen our team before the 80's until now and recycling coaches AGAIN does not make sense.

Sorry about the 2 year window, time flies at my age! Fixed it!

We have been the team that changes college football. We brought swag, speed, pro-style offenses, incredible defenses, yet no....we want an established coach. Somewhere out there is a coach who is innovative, creative and understands talent and style. I'd speculate that Liberty and Cincinnati coaches are that or that some coordinator wants to test the water with our talent.

If and when a change is made I want the folks to say "WHO"? Like we did with JJ and Erickson. Someone who can change the game. Unfortunately with so much social media influence we will get a retread an established coach. But how about a CFL coach? Or an NFL coordinator like the DC for the Ravens? But we already have that innovative guy!
JJ and Erickson would be so castigated coming in today that their early records would've had banners flying like they did for Butch (the same crying to bring Butch back flew the banners).

Frag the writing is on the wall. Not sure how you can’t see regression in multiple positions.
