Some of you guys are so concerned with winning the internet that you can't receive I'm not making this an "either, or" debate.
My point is, and always has been, that we should have had Brisett and Kaaya.
Some of y'all keep "dumbing the debate" to Kaaya V. Brissett. To me, it's Brissett V. Preton Dewey and Gray Crow.
Is tger any debate about Brissett being better than them? The depth behind Morris when Brissett transferred was those 2 and Ryan Williams. So, yeah, Brissett would have been an upgrade.
And y'all can't have it both ways... Just like Golden didn't get a pass. If you're arguing Kaaya was good enough to start as a true freshman, then he was good enough to beat that average Louisville team, who had a new coach and terrible QB play. Average QB play, which Brissett would have given us, would have been enough to win that game.

You must have forgotten Kaaya's 1st start at Louisville.
Yeah, I would have taken Brissett over starting a true freshman.
And I suspect competing with Brissett would have been better for Kaaya, too. Nothing like having another legit QB on the roster to raise your level of play, IMO.
Golden should have brought Brissett in as a transfer. 1 of the bigger blunders of his tenure at Miami.
Really, would you have taken Brisset over Kayaa? QB has not been our issue for a while. OC and DC a long with depth at the skill positions, LB, DL, CB and WR have been our down fall.
No, I didn't forget. He was a freshman starting for the first time as a D1 QB and playing against a ranked team to add. If you want to critique Kayaa and compare him to Brisset then you should look at Kayaa's first four games and see how he compared to Mia QB who started their first four games. When you do that you will find that Kayaa was the best over the past 14 years at Miami:
TD's/YDS/ QB Rating
TD YDS/avg RATE/avg
2014 BRAD KAAYA 10 263 156.5
2000 KEN DORSEY 9 242.25 163.25
2008-09 JACORY HARRIS 6 249 150.7
2003 BROCK BERLIN 5 221 123.77
2010 STEPHEN MORRIS 5 220 119.2
2005 KYLE WRIGHT 3 205.25 115.57
2008 ROBERT MARVE 5 134.5 112.75
Jacoby Brissett on the other hand:
YEAR TEAM CMP ATT PCT YDS AVG TD LNG INT RAT
2011 FLA 18 39 46.2 206 5.3 2 65 4 86.9
There is no comparison. Kayaa was better. As I said we had bigger issues and QB was not one.
