Jacoby Brissett, Jake Rudock and Brandon Doughty. The times are changing.

Golden should have brought Brissett in as a transfer. 1 of the bigger blunders of his tenure at Miami.

Really, would you have taken Brisset over Kayaa? QB has not been our issue for a while. OC and DC a long with depth at the skill positions, LB, DL, CB and WR have been our down fall.

You must have forgotten Kaaya's 1st start at Louisville.

Yeah, I would have taken Brissett over starting a true freshman.

And I suspect competing with Brissett would have been better for Kaaya, too. Nothing like having another legit QB on the roster to raise your level of play, IMO.

I remember when Golden first got hired, he did his darnest to sign either Brissett or Rudock......and failed miserably. that should've been the first sign of things to come under his direction.

Didn't the kid pass on us in a very unprofessional manner coming out of high school?

He was told he'd also be given a shot to be a walk-on for their basketball team as well. He then got beat out by Chris Rid 2.0 in Jeff Driskell. The rest, I really don't know. I don't recall if we offered the basketball option or not.

Either way, he went to a school that we don't get players from. Final thing, I remember being 18 and like most people th at age, we don't make the best decisions. I have no idea what made him decide on the Gates, but a Dwyer recruit going there was quite common at the time.

No, I didn't forget. He was a freshman starting for the first time as a D1 QB and playing against a ranked team to add. If you want to critique Kayaa and compare him to Brisset then you should look at Kayaa's first four games and see how he compared to Mia QB who started their first four games. When you do that you will find that Kayaa was the best over the past 14 years at Miami:

TD's/YDS/ QB Rating
TD YDS/avg RATE/avg
2014 BRAD KAAYA 10 263 156.5
2000 KEN DORSEY 9 242.25 163.25
2008-09 JACORY HARRIS 6 249 150.7
2003 BROCK BERLIN 5 221 123.77
2010 STEPHEN MORRIS 5 220 119.2
2005 KYLE WRIGHT 3 205.25 115.57
2008 ROBERT MARVE 5 134.5 112.75

Jacoby Brissett on the other hand:
YEAR TEAM CMP ATT PCT YDS AVG TD LNG INT RAT
2011 FLA 18 39 46.2 206 5.3 2 65 4 86.9

There is no comparison. Kayaa was better. As I said we had bigger issues and QB was not one.

Kaaya even as a freshman was better than Brissett. Brissett would of transferred from here too. I doubt he would of played in front of a senior Jacory or an upperclassman in Morris. He definutely wasn't going to play in front of Kaaya. NCState was the best spot for him. It seemed like all he did was check down.

LOL at dudes longing for Brissett and Ruddock. You can only play 1 QB, and I'll take Kaaya. Thanks.

Nuts ! Watching every game Brissett played in makes me wonder how these guys come up with draft opportunities.. Brissett isn't going to last in the NFL after two seasons, Kaaya's going to start for someone...

A little too much hype over Kaaya. I haven't been overly impressed over the past 2 years. Bad pocket presence, not the best decision maker, relies too much on the check down, etc. The potential has always been there though and he looks much improved under Ritch. To say that QB has not been our issue is crazy talk

Whaat? Please tell me and show me proof of these claims you made about kaaya.

Plenty of game film online. Show us how you came to these conclusions.

Your post reeks of dumbfuq but I'm trying to give you the benefit of the doubt

Brissett is good enough for Bill Belichek but not worth having on the roster for some guys on this board. Classic.

That guy really just said qb has been the issue but no mention of the defense? Foh lol
