Thoughts on UCF vs. USF?

I live in the Orlando area, but grew up in the Tampa Bay area. My niece will be graduating from USF next month.
I'm going for USF.

USF Alum.. I remember when UCF couldn't hold our jock strap.. We ended up stopping the "rivalry" because it was too one sided.. This is a totally different animal... Look forward to ending our little brother's undefeated season.

As an FIU grad I'll be rooting for UCF so we have a

Frost doing what I thought he'd do at UCF. Good for them. They have a really good (and personable) coaching staff.

I don't understand the disdain for programs like UCF, USF, FIU, FAU, etc. These teams are largely made-up of really good local players who weren't quite gifted enough for Miami. I always root for these schools.

You can still be a legit Miami fan while rooting for the lil' guys in Florida. They're not in competition with us.

This is a very adult perspective, and I don't like it.

I'll always hate the little guys in Florida because when they're even mildly good each and every-****in'-one wants to talk about a Big 4, or how they're a replacement for (lately) Miami in the Big 3, or how they'll start stealing recruits soon, or whatever-the-****. And even if these assertions are delusional, they **** me off. Stay ******, my friends.

Or they tackle your placeholder on an extra point and incite a brawl

I'll be driving back from Thanksgiving that day, but I'm an Orlando resident. Happy for all my UCF friends. Especially since they can talk trash to all the Gators and Noles in Orlando!

They play in a second tier conference and have good records. They are good teams but would have several losses if they played in a power 5. Any team can get sky high and beat a better opponent but can’t do it on a week in week out basis.

They don't have all the things Power-5 programs have to be successful.

Who cares. UCf-USF-fiu-fau all whanabee programs. They will never attain the status and performance of the big 3 in the state. Those four loser programs only get the marginal recruits that the big 3 don’t want. If any of the 4 teams were currently in a power 5 conference they would wind up with losing records.

Those "loser programs" are largely made-up of good local kids who weren't recruited by the Big-3. They have the same dreams and aspirations as the kids at Miami, FSU and UF.
Of course they'd having losing records in a Power-5 conference. THEY DON'T HAVE POWER-5 TALENT.

Since I am an UCF alum (‘99), I will be watching after the Miami game is finished. Been a die hard Canes fan since ‘88. I was accepted by Miami but the tuition was ridiculous versus what I had to pay at UCF.

I'd rather USF win, in part because I'm sick of hearing about Scott Frost, but the way UCF is scoring I doubt Strong's group will be able to slow them down much.

Same exact thing for me as far as attending UCF instead of UM... I could have gone to Miami and ended up with a ton of student loan debt, but decided to be a little closer to home and go to UCF for next to nothing.. It wasn't a bad experience there, but looking back part of me wishes I did decide to go to Miami instead...

Should be an interesting game. Lots of offense. Clearly their records wouldn't be as good if they played in a P5 conference but I'd venture to say both teams are better than a majority of the teams in the ACC. The winner of this game will likely get a big bowl game to prove their mettle. If UCF finishes undefeated, they'll play in a NY6 game against a major conference power.

They don't have all the things Power-5 programs have to be successful.

UCF has had an indoor practice facility for years. Their athletic facilities are on par with a majority of P5 schools. Money is not really an issue for them.

I believe that both programs would be middle of the pack in most if not all of the power 5 conferences. Their talent is at least on par with a program like Georgia Tech.

Not true.

UCF would get manhandled in the power five. They are maybe the smallest ranked team I have ever seen.

Honestly if UCF wins out they deserve a playoff spot a **** of a lot more then F'n 2 loss Ohio State.

I go to UCF, campus is pretty lively since the turn around, every teacher talks about the team in nearly every course as a segway

I don't believe USF can keep up in scoring points, figure it'll be a 45-31 game or something similar

btw i take full credit in both miami being undfeated (being a fan) and ucf being undefeated (being a student)

y'all are welcome

In the same boat as you.

I’m a 94 grad and my daughter currently goes there. I’m going to the game but only because Miami is away. Miami 34-18. I think UCF wins also.
Smart man! Should be a good game to come to.

It's fun to see Orlando at least resemble a football town.. even for just one game this coming weekend
