Hot take, Toney is gonna go down as the greatest to lace’em up at the U in my lifetime/fandom 89’.Miami survives its toughest fight of the year in a 38-35 thriller in Chapel Hill. Some thoughts on tonight.
-Mark Fletcher, all time Cane great. When we need him he steps us.
-Darian Mensah does it again. A near flawless performance. To me, Mensah is the best QB to come through Miami in a very very long time. He’s eclipsed Cam Ward, albeit Mensah has better weapons.
-Malachi Toney. Will go down as our best all time WR. The man just can’t not perform. It’s remarkable and we’ll likely never see this type of player again in our lifetime.
-OL shaky but really imposed their will as the game came on. Javion Mallory had another great game.
-Elijah Lofton has arrived. @DMoney he has risen. We don’t win tonight without him.
-Shannon Dawson, vest coordinator we’ve had here in decades. For the flack he gets at times, he’s on it most of the time. Really performed when needed.
-Defense what an unmitigated disaster. Worst performance since 2024 hands down. Bobby Petrino bent over Corey Heatherman. Idk what this D has to do to be better other than get some very important players back.
-Special teams minus our solid Kicker wake the **** up. Do we not practice onside kicks.
-Mario you’ve really been a great gameday coach this year. Can we just kneel the ball please?
Lots to fix but we get the job done.
The spot zone with a safety blitz every other play. Add onto that no pressure from the Dline until the final 2 series. I know they were using an he quick passing game but take one or Toure or Smith out, blitz up the middle more and stunt the DTs more. Everyone can see it from a mile away. Why not play Single high man if we were going to get torched either way. And we CAN NOT play cover 2 for the life of us.I hate the spot zones man ****. I remember last season I saw alot of cover 3 and my only complaint was the huge 10 yard cushions at time. Now we habe holes every with no pass rush. I still contend we should leave Bryce and Poyser back there and allow the CBs to play tighter instead of Bryce playing CB or nickel. But that's just me.
you're wrong but go onThe worst? Yeah, not even close.
I seem to remember another game against NC where we gave up over 500 yards rushing. Yeah, that was a LOT worse.you're wrong but go on
This isnt about one game. This is about the season. Every single game we miss 10+ tackles a game. Huge plays like FSU, Wake and tonight.I seem to remember another game against NC where we gave up over 500 yards rushing. Yeah, that was a LOT worse.
Feels like we are pretty healthy on D other than OJ who is always hurt anyway.Miami survives its toughest fight of the year in a 38-35 thriller in Chapel Hill. Some thoughts on tonight.

Add onside kicks now scaring the **** out of me besides hail marys
If we had our normal penalty game we probably lose.Cleaned up penalties at least
I hope you're right but I just don't see how OJ misses 12+ games and comes back sharpTackling is improvable, that’s something we can turn around. Skill wise not sure on secondary. Coaching wise - DB’s look out of place. OJ back end of year is huge - with this offense we may just need to be a tad better on D. As we saw tonight games come down to plays, and if OJ or a better game plan makes us 1 play better I’ll take it
Those guys who have been out all season will need time to catch upI hope you're right but I just don't see how OJ misses 12+ games and comes back sharp
