Thoughts on Tonight

[FL Cane]

Miami survives its toughest fight of the year in a 38-35 thriller in Chapel Hill. Some thoughts on tonight.

-Mark Fletcher, all time Cane great. When we need him he steps us.

-Darian Mensah does it again. A near flawless performance. To me, Mensah is the best QB to come through Miami in a very very long time. He’s eclipsed Cam Ward, albeit Mensah has better weapons.

-Malachi Toney. Will go down as our best all time WR. The man just can’t not perform. It’s remarkable and we’ll likely never see this type of player again in our lifetime.

-OL shaky but really imposed their will as the game came on. Javion Mallory had another great game.

-Elijah Lofton has arrived. @DMoney he has risen. We don’t win tonight without him.

-Shannon Dawson, vest coordinator we’ve had here in decades. For the flack he gets at times, he’s on it most of the time. Really performed when needed.

-Defense what an unmitigated disaster. Worst performance since 2024 hands down. Bobby Petrino bent over Corey Heatherman. Idk what this D has to do to be better other than get some very important players back.

-Special teams minus our solid Kicker wake the **** up. Do we not practice onside kicks.

-Mario you’ve really been a great gameday coach this year. Can we just kneel the ball please?

Lots to fix but we get the job done.

BTW love how when Malachi Toney comes into the middle of the field, they kicked to the side line. After 2 kicks to the middle. Too funny

I circled this game right when I saw it in the summer. Halloween night week before ND. Knew it would be close. Got the win. Previous years a=maybe dont get the win. Petrino had a plan. Reminded me of the Louisville game last year.

Now the ND doesnt excatly mean a whole lot except ******** ND over for the playoff. So go up there and sling it around. Thank goodness Ash is no Petrino. I think Ash is there O coord. I know ND fans are not happy about both their coords.

Add onside kicks now scaring the **** out of me besides hail marys

[Mnhurricane]

The defense has nothing to do with injuries. Never did

[aleahy]

Hetherman should be ashamed at how his defense is playing. There needs to be a lot of soul searching over there. Players and coaches. It’s not close to good enough.

Cleaned up penalties at least

[Objectivefan79]

We're a product of the schedule. It's obvious now

[E1k]

The defense has nothing to do with injuries. Never did

Exactly spot drop zones will get torched no matter who you play

[USNAVYCANE]

Taking a knee would have given UNC the ball back we had to run off more time

[Sabetta]

You wrote a novel and fail to mention that this is the worst tackling/finishing team I've ever seen

[Canesmia01]

Taking a knee would have given UNC the ball back we had to run off more time

If we took a knee with running zero seconds off the clock and not used any on fourth down then sure.

[Manfred_Cane]

Taking a knee would have given UNC the ball back we had to run off more time

So we're a product of beating the #14 team in country? lol

[CreativeCane]

3 and 4 let Heatherman do a lot of things last year that this DL doesn’t allow.

[SinisterCane]

You can’t win a championship with WEFENSE

[umcane4life]

This was always going to be a tough game. Halloween night on the road against a team that has had our number the last decade.

[Objectivefan79]

We're not a great tackling team but not the worse any of us have been seen. Be real.

[supacane]

Exactly spot drop zones will get torched no matter who you play

Is this what he used last season? I dont remember it being so easy to march the field. This feels like Guidry and No D type coverage

[305Worldwide]

im just happy we won because this team just gives us **** every single time

Curse broken
