Thoughts on this years schedule... (the good, the bad and the ugly)..

It's funny that people say we don't leave Florida until super late as a super special good thing? I mean GIVEN our Home+Away games Isn't it more arguable that its actually worse to have our few away games all backloaded basically? Most programs don't schedule more than 1 Away OOC game per year. Not many have 2 In-State Rivals as well...

The 2 byes being so early is definitely the worst aspect of our schedule. Like in an ideal world if you JUST moved the away game at Pitt to like directly after FSU and moved the 2nd bye to like 3-4 weeks before the season ended, it'd honestly be an ideal schedule.

But I also think there are worst things than to have like the 4 projected most difficult and important games all early and/or with a bye before them. ND week 1 at home is great for us imo. UF we had to have in first 4 weeks. And I'd rather play ND week 1 than UF week 1 given they are starting a true frosh QB. Bye before our biggest rival on road for FSU and then a bye before likely our most difficult ACC opponent in Louisville? I mean maybe its arguable SMU is more difficult? Pitt the big "fear" is that it's final game of season and on the road in likely bad weather.....

Like some aspects are great for us. Some are pretty bad. The 2nd bye being after FSU is by far the worst part of our schedule. 2nd worst is Away at Pitt to end the season. Those are honestly the only 2 things I REALLY would say I wish were different tbh.

I took a look at most of the top 25 and we're the only team who play their last 7 games back-to-back. Im assuming it has to do with the all of the home games but why set it up like that?

Guess I never paid attention to their schedule but Georgia has to be top 2 in least-traveled teams. Their "farthest" game is a 1 hour flight to Starksville.

a lot is being made of the Miami schedule for '25, specifically the part about them not leaving the state of Florida till Nov 1(at SMU). Hey, they just want to do their part to limit carbon emissions. Also, some other interesting things about the #Canes schedule..

They have two BYE weeks in a three week stretch (Sept 27 and Oct 11, in-between is the game at Tally at FSU. I think that's interesting. It means that the last 7 weeks they play straight through. Depth will be tested in this stretch.

You could make an argument that Miami's 3 toughest games (ND, FL, L'Ville) are at home, I know some will say SMU should be up there, I don't necessarily disagree...

Also, the last two games are road trips in cold weather environments(Vatech and Pitt). And yeah, that Pitt game gives me memory of the coldest game I ever attended, 2003 in their final game in the Big East(about 15 degrees that whole Thanksgiving weekend)

Never in my life did I think an 8 game home schedule would turn into what I see for 2025.

Breathtaking by the ACC.

I'll just say this: If you go to the home games then enjoy this year as much as you can.

2026 Home Schedule
FAMU
Central Michigan
Boston College
FSU
Pitt
Va Tech

You basically reiterated what Josh Pate said on my post from yesterday. Which @WeBallinBoyz told me to shut my trap about the SCHEDULE!!!! lol

Ask your Bull(****) Gator friend about how many years that UF never left the state of Florida for an out-of-conference game.

THAT is the real crime.
Not too mention how they've scheduled their home opener for the past 3 decades. Who are they opening up against this year?

Bunch of cowards...

My biggest overall concern is the back-to-back VaTech/Pitt games on the road. Front-end and back-end of the Thanksgiving holiday. Time of the year when all the nagging injuries hurt, and the cold weather doesn't help matters.
I've been a broken record on this for months. It's an absolutely brutal way to end a season.

Was at that game too. Clinched the Big East. Taylor and Rolle shut Larry down. And the other hit shot wr.
Geathers with the long dagger run. That guy was under appreciated.

I agree that the last two games on the road in November are a concern. However what I am most angry about is that ridiculous Bye Week placement. 2 Bye weeks in 3 weeks? Who in their right mind would conceive of such a thing? It's absolutely outrageous that the schedule makers would even think of doing that. 7 straight weeks to end the season then an eighth game assuming that we make it to the ACCCG in Charlotte. We could have really used that 2nd Bye before the Pitt game. This team must make it to Charlotte this year. This team must make the playoffs this year. No excuses! Mario has a great deal of pressure on him to deliver this season and that Bye Week buffoonery isn't going to make it any easier.

I couldn't be there in person but I remember that game vividly. That was one of the best individual performances in Canes Football history by Antrell Rolle. The way he locked down Larry Fitzgerald was awe inspiring! I put Rolle's performance that night right up there with Edge vs UCLA 1998, Jerome Brown vs Oklahoma 1985 D'erique King vs NC State 2020, Dan Morgan vs FSU 2000 and Willis McGahee vs Virginia Tech 2002 and many others.
