I think there is some credence to it, but not sure if I agree with some of the comments that this supports the direction towards a 24 team CFP.
A sample size of 1 week is pretty limited.
TV revenue is the reason to increase the number of playoff teamsThe talent parity point is correct, the sport has really never been this competitive thanks to NIL and the portal. There is no rational argument for the 24 team playoff other than for mid SEC teams to feel good that they went 8-4 and played a "playoff game" instead of the Belk Bowl. It's truly the dumbest idea that the sport has ever put forth lol
Not sure if I'm linking right but it's come out that it's really barely any new money for conferences once you add in the loss of championship game revenue:TV revenue is the reason to increase the number of playoff teams

Not if it freezesIn other news, water is wet. Thanks, Pud, for the analysis.
It comes from the NCAA being broke. Covid year revenue and I cannot remember the other reason why they are broke. No doubt, but doesn’t that come from more competitive games rather than a Top 5 carousel of programs?
I have 2019, weeks 0-6 were combined 51.9% of fbs vs fbs were 11 points or less. 2026 week 0-6 is 56.5%. This is closing line medians across diff books. He might be on to something but this analysis is nonsense. At least do weeks 1-6 sample sizes for this season and a decade ago. The information is available…
