Thoughts on Stevenson and Bogle Announcement

View as article
As many know, priority Hurricane 2019 targets DE Khris Bogle and DB Tyrique Stevenson are announcing at the Army All-American Bowl tomorrow (game beginning at 2 pm). I’ve talked to numerous sources both on the player’s and Miami’s side recently, and I’ll be upfront about it, all that’s clear is there’s no certain answer for who they’re going to choose tomorrow. They’re either both very torn or have done an excellent job hiding their intentions. That doesn’t have me overly confident for Miami; I was hoping to hear something more concrete for UM, especially considering Miami's “announcement day” history and the two programs they’re competing against. Here’s the latest I’m hearing.

The chatter has been heavy on Stevenson, but in both directions. The talk has been mixed coming from his side, with some close to the recruitment saying Miami and some saying Georgia. I’ll say the faction that was pumping up Miami to me 2-3 weeks ago is much less certain what he’ll do. One good source close to the recruitment feels he is playing up both sides. On the positive angle, I can say that Miami’s staff feels very confident they will land him. I can’t say I’m quite as confident, but that is encouraging nonetheless, if only from the standpoint that if the staff wasn’t feeling confident, this would be 100% over. If they land Stevenson, I’m told the deciding factor will be not being able to turn down safeties coach Ephraim Banda, as the two have built an exceptional relationship, and he should be commended for fighting all the way to the end in what has been a topsy-turvy recruitment.

It’s been the polar opposite on Bogle, as there’s been complete silence coming from his camp and they're keeping things close to the vest. So, while I wish I was able to hear more on that side, I’m a little more confident here since there has been nothing really new coming in; Bama had to win him over and status-quo would indicate Miami. One program source feels the fact that he is signing late, yet not taking another visit to Bama before his decision, is also a positive indicator for Miami. I know Bogle’s told both Miami and Alabama he was coming in the past. The staff is aware of this, but despite that, they are confident on landing Bogle as well.

Here is where Stevenson is UGA. From what I gather in the highlights portion, Stef Adams inner circle Stevenson sources felt very confident he was coming 2-3 weeks ago and now are not too sure. While the Miami staff feels confident they get him. In other words, The Miami staff is about to be played again and they don't get it ! Dudes how many times ! Hopefully this changes in the Diaz regime.

Irvins said he would be surprised if Stevenson went to Miami and he expects it's Georgia. He also almost changed his pick to Bama for Bogle a few days ago and it could go either way. This has to be the worst recruiting job in Miami history. I respect Richt but he should have got fired simply for his recruiting job this year.

LoL, you guys are comical, how do you label this class as the worst, you cant do that until they actually play games, yall letting recruiting sites mess yall heads up. That was my favorite part about manny's intro speech when he said "recruiting site rankings mean nothing to us, if you can play on these fields down here you can play".

Bogle being put to the side and slow played and our horrible dL depth made it somewhat easy. Like I said “ he’s not a big bag type “ recruit.

I know you don’t change your cribbystaball, but would you? Haha

Also we as fans need to keep things in perspective. We are not a top 10 every year recruiting team. But we also don’t need to be. We can win the coastal and should every year getting around the top 10 and then we can make a run at Clemson. Clemson has only has 3 top 10 classes in 10 years. Once that happens we need the right coaching/ luck/ health and motivation to win a ship. It’s how Clemson has won. We need to model ourselves after Clemson we can’t keep dreaming of being Alabama.

No disrespect, but this is one of the worst post of the year, you are a guy that roots for the model of all of college football and you posted that we need to model our program after another school, LoL is this a Miami blog site, im lost!

The reason we aren’t relevant is because the Big Bag schools come and steal guys like these two. It’s an uphill battle from the start.

We are irrelevant because we hired Coker, Shannon, Golden & a washed up Richt. Almost two decades of bad or mediocre coaching will destroy even the best of programs.

The worst part of this is going to be that Bogle himself said once he picks its still not over and he's going to take more visits (unless that has changed in the last couple of weeks since he said that).

everyone including wiltfong was confident. if you read the stuff leading up to ESD, miamis staff wasnt confident the same time 247, cribby, cis became not confident.

People clown the staff about JH but “OU going hard” is what won that. I don’t care what Ivins or anyone else says. He wasn’t leading um on. His dad getting involved late changed everything.

That’s not heresay. That’s fact.

I wonder if the people that are 100% confident we dont land 1 will be happy to be wrong. Bogle seems to be that one. But hey maybe we could open the bag we fleeced from Florida State
