Thoughts on Miami's First (and Hopefully Only) Loss of the Season (For Non-Hysterical People)

No we don’t. We have Toney as the only real playmaker on this entire offense. Daniels is fine but he doesn’t get much separation and offers little after the catch. Marion is averaging 2 catches a game and doesn’t offer much in the passing game at all. It’s inexcusable that in year 4 of this regime we have this little playmaking ability and so little production at wr across the board.
We have other play makers on the bench . They just happens to be all freshman and trader . We have freshman te who would be useful over the middle .

Dawson needs to go. Oh how I wish one of these teams would hire him away as a head coach. But Mario will likely hire another non-creative, leather helmet style offensive genius.

Agree, but we have to get more people involved. Can't just be Toney and CJ. You can argue guys on the field aren't getting open. If that's the case, put in others that can get open.

Beck missed Bauman on one of the 1st half picks. It's like he doesn't trust anyone but #7, #10 and sometimes #0

Post-game Beck said it was a miscommunication on the route from Lofton. If that's the case, Beck and Dawson need to clean that up or get Lofton off the field at that point of the game
agree on the personnel . Time to get one or two others heavily involved. It's the only way to keep the opposing defense off balance. Right now, all they have to do is cover Toney and Daniels.

Switch playcallers and Beck doesn't throw a single pick and Miami blows Louisville out of the ******* water with relative ease.

Dawson's a glutton for running into loaded boxes and passing into heavy 2 high safety coverages.

Notice how Brohm made everything easy for Miller? Easy slants, curls, hitches, RPOs, trick plays. Kept our defense on its heels with easy reads one read calls.

Not Dawson. 3 & 4? Dawson calls 4 Vertical routes where the checkdown option is outside the numbers making it a **** 20 yard throw while QB under pressure. We coulda simply employed the same **** game plan as louisville and blew them out. Nope. Gotta go air raid. Gotta go vertical. Been doing it since he started here. ***** super annoying. Cam Ward covered up a lot of his ineptitude. Dude does not have a consistent feel for the game and when to adjust his calls based upon his players execution or lack thereof.

Ive made up my mind that Mario will just drop games to coaches who can match his toughness approach and add to it with good gameplanning and risk taking.

All we can do is pray that our athletes will overcome the ineptitude. Cause it is what it is. We aint going undefeated. Coaches like Brohm and Key will have Mario's number unless our athletes overcome.
I think this is something that we really need to find out as a fanbase regarding who’s actually calling the run plays or dictating the run plays

Looks like a lot of what the board was saying during the first half when you were telling everyone they were moping and crying.
The mopes were moping and crying, just like they do every game. Will continue to call out those miserable *****

I said it after ND, but Elija Lofton is not good and some of you have to come to terms with that.
I don’t understand all of the hype. He looks fat and slow.
In favor of who exactly? Dude is a top notch college football OC. We will not replace him with someone better.
Basing this off of one season? The play calling was terrible before Ward. It’s terrible now. Pretty sure Ward went off script and did what he wanted. Dawson has shown zero creativity since he’s been here. No ability to adjust to what a team is doing. Could it be Mario influencing what the offense does? Yes that’s possible. But if you think his play calling has been anything but dog **** I don’t know what you’ve been watching.

I'll put $10,000.00 on it.

LOL at thinking this is going to be their only loss.
Did you watch this team play?
We have a no running game. You just need to bring people in the box and run game is stuffed. Absolutely no explosives in the run game. Lyle was supposed bring that but he has no vision and hasn’t done a thing in the two years he’s been here. He might be the most overrated and over hyped player on this team, next to Lofton.
We have a QB who at the slightest amount of pressure refuses to move or step into his throws and throws the ball up for grabs or off the mark.
This offense has been exposed big time and other teams are going to be successful doing the same thing. We’re a middle of the road ACC team, same as we’ve been for 25 years. Anyone who watched this team tonight and still thinks this is a good team and a title contender needs to get their head examined.

Lyle could be great if they didn’t try to run him up the center’s ***. Get him in space. He’s not a power back. This is why Derrek Cooper won’t be coming here. The run scheme is beyond bad. Too easy to defend. They do the same thing over and over and wonder why it doesn’t work. Everyone in America knows exactly where they are going to run it.

I don’t see how we have a good WR room. Malachi Toney is the only one consistently open and he also gets a ton of YAC yards from short passes. Marion is developing. CJ Daniels has made some great catches but he really doesn’t get that much seperation.

Moore is young but has had several drops. Trader… lol. Upshaw or Moore need to step up.

Dawson had three plays from what I saw in my seats ...

1. Bubble screen to WR - probably half the passes
2. Deep passes and long outside the number throws
3. Run into the A gap

Literally called nothing in the middle of the field that I remember
Couple of passes in the middle

1. Daniels got smacked
2. Threw behind Toney who was double covered
3. Couple 2 yard completions (One to Marion for sure)

Regardless, I've never coached higher than summer league/high school and am confident that I could scheme to shut down that OC

Beck played like *** but if you analyze the INTs ...

1st one would have been a 50+ yd pass to Baby Jesus and the LB made a ridiculous play. Only complaint is maybe too much air
2nd one was an underthrow jumpball - all on Beck
3rd one was on 4th down - had to just chuck it somewhere
4th one was most likely Lofton running the wrong route.

Somehow L'Ville managed to stop the run and get back into a deep shell when we didn't run. Pretty sure DMoney said their LBers were former Bama/UGA safeties that bulked up so maybe that is how they managed to bail into coverage so quickly.
