If Beck can’t be the trigger man, roll out some crazy Toney in the backfield formations. Let him run, let him pass, let the other QB pass to him out of the backfield. ****…I’d love to see it with Beck as the primary QB.

I wish Mario would cut it loose on Offense in other words in a smart way so if the check down is open hit it. But open up the run game, mix in some off tackle and sweeps not just up middle behind center handoffs. Less predictable, start adjusting to what defenses are doing to us. Utilize our talent better. We can't keep trying to force a square peg in a round hole. Hopefully Trader will get his head on right to put the team first sooner than later. He is too talented to waste. We need to win the last 6 no excuses.

I think this is getting too much emphasis honestly my man
It’s been a simple formula. Teams try to take away the run so we punish them with the pass. Been happening for two years.
The loss last week wasn’t on the run game or the concepts, it was Carson Beck making TVD look like Joe Montana
There were plays to be made through the air all over the field
Marion literally jumping up and down uncovered on a fly route for 6 waving his arms while Beck threw it into quadruple coverage to Toney was pretty much how the game went (there were actually 3 wide open guys on the play)

What the **** was Beck doing as i think he just had a horrible game or else he has making bad reads for whateve reason. He seemed to be better in past at using his checkdowns and making smarter reads.

Yeah honestly I didn’t know a ton about Beck when we got him. I had seen him a few times and wasn’t really all that impressed but clearly he was welcomed when it looked like we were headed towards Nickel/Emory
The FSU game we made them pay for trying to take away the run. It was there again against Louisville and honestly it’s how every team is gonna play us the rest of the year
I’m not suggesting we shouldn’t mix it up in the run game at least a little bit of course but the run game calls are taking a lot of heat that would have been completely avoided if Beck just at least plays a decent game
I’m genuinely concerned about QB1 but still leaning towards optimistic he will play better down the stretch. At least until Pitt where I think there’s some potential issues they have on defense but that’s for another day

First half looked like it would lean more towards my score prediction
I thought the first half would be rough just because it’s a common theme with teams around the country after losses. Bit of shock. Less confidence etc
Stanford coming off a nice win it kinda set up for a goofy beginning to me but thought we would pull away

That’s what I was laughing about as well. We both commented on the “look” thing and it literally is like well ****…we covered and held them to under 10…why am I still concerned?

The style we play makes misses big because we limit possessions. Even last night we ran up and down the field in the first half and we just kept coming up a **** hair short with the bro ball short yardage calls in opponent territory. They had one drive and did literally jack **** the res of the game. Stanford had 3 actual possessions in the first half.
As far as the run game. Looked like we did run a few more off tackle plays and mixed it up a bit but didn’t have much success there. I think Brockermeyer is a weak link and in short yardage any call we have can’t put him one on one, especially against a true nose. Probably why we run so much duo. That’s on Dawson, Mirabal, and Beck to scheme around and make sure that Brockermeyer isn’t one on one in short yardage situations.
The interior runs are what sets up everything else. The whole point of them is that all our shot plays look similar and when we have success on that action it’s because we have pounded it into the center of the line relentlessly. Beck has to hit when they dial up the shot plays.
Dawson needs to get in his bag a bit more, prove he can anticipate how teams will play his tendencies. Ultimately we went 5 games dictating to other teams how the game will be played and pounded them into the dirt. Against Louisville they jumped out to a bit of a lead and we fumble ****ed around for 3 quarters and never really got them on their heels or got a chance to wear them down. That’s mostly on Beck reverting to hero ball and losing patience and confidence in what we do.
I think the majority of the level headed and reasonable people on this board should have this perspective. Literally if Beck hits Marion on that go that he missed for the second INT we probably cover against Louisville.
