Now that the alcohol fueled *****ing about “terrible wins” has worn off the board I feel like now’s the time to take a brief step back and soak it all in
We’ve been blasting but now it’s time for a cruise week which can be just as important for gains
Like the first time you saw a chick take her top off in front of you…let’s just freeze this moment in time
5-0
Wins over the holy trinity of hatred (for me)
Notre Dame
Florida
FSU
And of course South Florida just for good measure
Never forget
No matter how it happened, no matter what concerns people have, the only team that can take away these accomplishments right now is The Miami Hurricanes
We’ve had good starts before but it always felt like we were riding the storm a little bit kinda waiting for the wave to hit
There was always the Alabamas, the Georgias, the Clemsons, the OSUs out there lurking if we ever got over our skis. We could win games in the ACC but we were never even close to their level talent wise
Well that’s all different now
It’s time to lock the **** in and handle ACC business the way we should
Let’s take a look back at some of the MVPs of the first leg of the season:
Carter Davis: speaking of legs…where would we be without this dude? We paid All **** Name Team kicker Bert Auburn to be the guy and he was trash.
Seriously take a good look at this kid and tell me that was a good idea:
In steps…Carter Davis? Dude drilled one of the most clutch field goals in Miami history against Notre Dame in terrible conditions. His touchbacks on kickoffs have been a godsend. As my boy @rsa coral gables has pointed out many times, our snapper is routinely trying to **** us over. No problem says Mr. Davis
Malachi Toney: Obvious. I knew he was good. **** I didn’t push back when people claimed he was better than X. What I was concerned about could we replace the leadership of Cam and X? Beck, Toney, and CJ look like they’ve been best friends for 20 years and we haven’t missed a beat as far as chemistry. Toney has been the single most important player on the offense as far as what he brings to every single situation on the field
Mesidor: Bain has been the best player in the country regardless of position. That’s a given. It would be easy to say well other guys will have success because of all the attention on Bain. Yeah it helps, but that’s not really what’s happening. Mes is destroying double teams, setting edges, sniffing out QB runs and screens with the best of them. It’s truly remarkable what we are witnessing from these two DEs against arguably the best competition in the country
So what’s next? The bye week with a chance to get some guys healthy and work on some little things
I feel like after this stretch the message from the fans to the team would be something like this
I’m thinking the same thing most of you are. PTSD from blowing seasons against inferior ACC opponents. The November road schedule.
Truth is this **** really is different
Imagine walking into the defensive team room and thinking you’re gonna half *** it with this guy watching you?
Nah man. This team is destined for big things. There’s no smoke and mirrors. No massive weaknesses.
We just can’t lose our edge
Every morning I want our guys getting out of bed with the Rocky IV mentality. Every team we face from here on out is trying to ruin their lives.
They’re trying to take away the very thing these players have worked their asses off for. Are we really gonna let some ****boy hicks from Kentucky take it away?
Fran Brown? We gonna let him take it away?
Pat Narduzzis ***** ***? Really? He’s gonna take it from us??
**** no
