At least we didn’t lose to ULM. This article is pretty fitting. Talks about how they realized as a program that they could lose to anybody regardless of how much more talent they have or how much better their coaching staff is. Why? Because you can’t win on talent and coaching alone. You need a culture of excellence. We don’t have that and haven’t since the turn of the century. Previous regimes either didn’t realize this or couldn’t fix it. I think Manny realizes the issue, at least he’s said some things that make me think he sees it. Can he fix though? That remains to be seen, but 4 games in is not enough time to judge.

I remember when Bama fans were ready to run Saban out of town after that loss.

I also remember when Clemson fans were ready to run Dabo out of town.

Lol this is always the go to every after a game where we look ****** or lose to a team we shouldn’t

Doesn’t make it any less true.

Tell me, do our players look like they are committed to being the best football players they can be? Why is Donaldson such a fat slob? Why is Pope still skinny as **** and still can’t figure out the play book? Why is a 2 star OL coming in at 245lbs in January and immediately winning the starting LT position?

Saban had literally just taken over a once proud program that was in shambles. Manny has taken over a program that he has been around the past 3 years. It’s been his defense and his players he recruited.

So we weren’t a once proud program in shambles? Really?

Saban’s 2007 Bama team was probably still more talented than this Miami team.

Nope. They were trash. We have talent and are in an raise conference/division. Bama wasn’t favored to win ****, we should steam roll through the Coastal. Plus Manny has been around and part of the reasoning for his hire was continuity and a quick turn around. Keep making excuses though.

So we should expect to follow in the footsteps of the two greatest dynasty in 20 years? You’re pointing out the exception, which is very unlikely, or at least that’s what a mathlete told me

Name a single starter on that team and I might believe you. Also, I remember Saban already winning a nc before he got to bama

LOL...you are ******* delusional. This program is in shambles and has been for over a decade. Not a coach in the world was going to fix this **** show overnight. Maybe Manny won’t be able to do it either. There’s certainly a lot to be concerned about. I don’t like a lot of what I’m seeing, but 4 games isn’t a large enough sample size.

I don’t expect anything. We could have paid $10m for the best HC available and it’s just as likely that we’d be right where we are. I think this issues with this program are bigger than that. We have a culture problem that talent, scheme, play calling isn’t going to fix.

Bama was favored to win that game against ULM by 30 points.

The same rationale led to Coker. The only difference, Dee didn't resist the players who pushed for Coker. I'm not sure if James didn't have the gonads to resist pressure or he did it on his own. But both should have taken a look at the Jankovich's playbook when JJ left. Rather than fallback on Stevens, he had previously noticed Erickson. Say what you want for other aspects of his tenure, he was a better than good game day coach.

"I think Saban does a really good job of identifying naturally competitive people in recruiting. So when you have that hypercompetitive locker room, where you’re always at it … honestly, we really didn’t like the defense. We’d be friends in the offseason and friendly in the locker room and be buddies and stuff later, but I wanted to kill the defense. Every practice. Ask Kirby [Smart, Georgia’s head coach and Saban’s former coordinator] that."

Yep, we need this type of attitude. We have virtually none of it right now. The few guys who do have that attitude are obvious...see KJ Osborn. We need guys who want to be better than the guy next to them at everything. Guys who say, “if that guy stays after practice for an hour, I’m going to stay after for 2, if that guy shows up 30 minutes early, I’m going to show up an hour early.”

We don’t have it. We have a bunch of dudes who think, “I’m a 4 star from SF, I’m the best. I don’t need to work because I’m more talented.”
