This was 'offensive'....

No OC wants his entire staff to not be his guys and why would he? How can you teach my system and philosophies the way I want them? Most Oc’s want at least a couple guys and some off field guys too. I feel bad for Ponce , he was put in a horrible position and will be part of the collateral damage.

What’s funny is the defense has the same exact issue. In all my years I’ve never seen a staff built like this from top to bottom. Chemistry matters , this isn’t a fantasy draft of coaches. I do agree the next OC will have his guys , at least a couple and maybe an analysis role.
The new OC will get his chance to bring in his own WRC/QBC. Typically, coordinators bring in one of their guys. On occasion, it’s 2, but generally it’s one guy. I don’t think having an OLC and a RBC in place would dissuade many. But, if the new OC insisted on his own RBC, then I can see smith being let go…possibly.

Mario should break the bank for Mullen and let him do his thing.

Look at the latest big OC hires this past year or 2. At most, they brought in 2 of their guys as coaches. Most brought one. Now, support staff, sure, probably a few guys.

Maybe we excepted some level of competence from the highest paid staff in the ACC and one of the highest paid staffs in the country.
There’s no justification for it. There’s minimal competencies that should be expected and they weren’t remotely met. Pray there’s a genuine shift in willingness to go a different route.

Ponce didn't run this crap at App State. IMHO he should have been made interim OC 3-4 weeks ago and told "the rest of the season is your interview, put at least 35 on the board every week"

It couldn't have been any worse.

Sebastian calling plays could t have been worse. We just had the worst offensive day since the ‘60s.

The most depressing thing is watching the Canes’ *** offense on Saturday and then watching the Fins’ offense on Sunday. What a disconnect! At least, the Fins have a bye this week.
