This team reminds me of the 2000 team.

Lmfao it actually happened later in the year. But that’s bc of COVID. But here we finally have the “let’s try to compare our current team to the greatest college team ever built!”
 
This team has had a very good season under trying circumstances. Love the leadership D'Eriq has shown. Like Lashlee as the OC.

This team has made the season fun & I'm thrilled to see the progress being made. This upcoming recruiting class and D'Eriq (in terms of at least establishing the upward trajectory) will be the primary swing factors in determining the fate of the Canes for the next few years.

As much as I've enjoyed this season, I think the 2000 team was better at virtually every single position except K, P and QB (and I'm a huge Dorsey fan but he did have some rough outings).

The 2000 team was waaay stronger in the secondary -- not even close. LB -- not even close. DL -- we have some real talent on DL in 2020 but DT clearly tilts to 2000 and DE is 2000 overall with a couple of players a push.

On offense, the WR were better in 2000 and RB was also stacked in 2000. OL was also vastly superior in 2000.

Regardless, this team is headed in the right direction and Manny has made a lot of good moves to make it happen. It's been great to see!

For starters, we're 8-1 and we're rolling with a bad *** QB late into the season. Just like in 2000. But you keep on trying to hate.

I kinda had the same feeling, but then reality hit me. That 2000 team beat FSU that year when they were ranked #1 and beat VT when they were ranked #2 (albeit without Vick for most of that game). Their only loss was to a formidable Washington team across the country and almost found a way to make an epic comeback that game.

We are closer to 1999 than 2000, but I LOVE the optimism!

i was gonna say that. need this 21 class to be strong on top of 20. then keep doing it every year. you dont win NC's with kids like dee wiggins and ivy at cb
 
I think king comes back and improves his draft stock! I think Harley does too. Phillips n roche Gone! Bolden needs to come back as well!
 
By the end of 2000 everyone in the country knew no one could beat us.

Im enjoying this team but the 99 team was created by a genius. A dynasty full of stars and hall of famers.

This years team caught lightning in a bottle. Fueled by portal studs who will be gone after one season. Probably gonna lose 2-3 to the draft that shouldnt be leaving. Next years first game is gonna be a cold slap in the face.

Dude... Nobody is saying this is the 2k team. This team just reminds me of that squad. Especially with King at the helm. King got some Dorsey in him. Just knows how to win.

what makes you so sure we roll Bama? They are at least on par or with Clemson who destroyed us. We’re several good recruiting classes from that level
