This style of football football wins you titles.

I don’t think anyone with three brain cells would agree that what we saw last night was a national championship-level of offense. Added with the ND data point (their defense stinks), our offense is probably a top 30 ish unit. Maybe a little lower.

But this defense? Absolute lights out and arguably the best DL in college football. They’ll keep us in every game, bare minimum.

That combo, provided we can get some more consistent downfield passing + push in the run game, should be enough to make the playoffs. From there, it’s anyone’s game.
Maybe the best miami DL since 2003. I agree with your post. Solid post.

Boi this year gonna be so much fun and exciting to watch. Right now i believe we have a top 3 Dline and probably a top 3 Oline too. I love how physical our trenches were last night, on defense and offense. Big hits and hard runs! This is going to be a special season my brother, i cant wait to celebrate it with you.
Best OL and its not close, probably best DL too. Im pumped bro. For real.

With the way our defense is playing right now plus our rushing attack, those 2 elements travel well on the road. We get complimentary passing from Beck - this team should go far after the regular season has ended.

All y’all have to do is go watch Michigan’s 2023 championship run, they were not lightning up the score board, they won with defense and run game, just enough pass game to keep the defense honest
You’re right and this could be misinterpreted as a “mopey” post but I don’t think this is a good way to try and do things these days

Limiting possessions makes the games easier to flip on a fluky play or two. That’s twice we’ve outclassed an opponent this year and things got way too close

I think Mario gets that though he’s been super aggressive with big name WRs (though we’ve yet to really make a mark there) because for sustained success I think you gotta have the big play ability

Hopefully that makes sense. I’m not complaining. You do the best with what you’ve got and last year was evidence he’s willing to play shootout ball as well

Just hope we see our offense build some big plays during ACC play

Whats national championship level offense? Michigan averaging 382 yards per game and winning the title in 2023 or ND averaging 399 yards per game and making the national title game in 2024? Also both years, the teams with the #1 offense didnt even make the playoffs LSU and US. And the teams who won the titles had the #1 defense. Michigan and Ohio.

It seems way more important to have a dominating defense that can stop the run withoit blitzing and clamp WRs and then be able to run the ball. The final thing is to be able to make plays when necessary. I think we have the players to do it and we must develop the passing attack over the season. The defense is legit.
