This Should Be Our Next Coach

I swear it was you. If not I apologize but I remember several vocal idiots chirping about it.

No no my friend. If I said that I deserve to be flogged. If I recall when Miami was making the hiring decision, I didn't think Miami would get near Butch again after the UNC scandal (even though he was cleared). If Miami had hired Butch I would have been all for it, but worried about other coaches negative recruiting. I questioned if he still had "it" since no other program wanted him, but he has proven he is as good as ever. Should never have doubted Da Gaaaawd. Other big mistake was being fully in support of Rick (as I explained in other threads), I thought he would be on a revenge tour, not a retirement gig. I'd be careful agreeing too much with Consigliere, rumor has it he says he knows more about football than Howard Schnellenberger and I've heard he got lobotomized by a *****.

Oh where you claim to know more about football than Howard Schnellenberger and called him senile? Yeah I remember.

Why would Schnelly not vouch for his coach? Is he going to come out and say he sucks or is average?

No bc he hired him and its the best a school like FAU can do.

Unless you are waiting for someone who hasn't been born yet, the list of "realistic" coaches is what it is. Dream candidate is Peterson from UW. He makes the same salary as Rick (4 mil). If Miami throws 5.5 mil, see what happens.

Next is a big drop off but as I've pointed out in another thread, the common denominator of successful coaches at Miami is they were innovators and did things that hadn't been seen in big time college football. Who fits that bill? Leach, Briles.

Then there are ace coordinators. Venables, Dave Aranda Maybe they are innovators too, I don't know about their defense schemes. On offense, maybe Yost.

Then stud recruiters: Cristobal

Cristobal is coming back down to earth. Back 2 Back losses, and this was a str8 blow out by a **** poor team.

We could play 3 dimensional chess and hire Mike Leach. Hear me out. I know The Pirate is a huge weirdo. He also happens to be a good friend of the President of the United States (Trump already tried to get Miami to hire Leach in 2010)

Leach knows all about Bama and SEC bag dropping, so if it happens on his watch at Miami, you know he'll complain to Trump, who will make life miserable for Saban and Kirby as Trump will demand an investigation since Leach is his boy. Tobacco Road refs won't dare ***** Miami since POTUS will be tweeting about it that same day. So Leach solves the offense problem, and by virtue of his relationship with the POTUS, fixes the issue of SEC bag dropping on SFL recruits and getting screwed by ACC refs.

Oregon had the worst OOC schedule I have ever seen. That’s a large part of why they looked good early in the year.

Id take Leach right now. You know our offense wouldn't be a ****show.

Leach isn’t going to get another job with his baggage.

I still am amazed that he got the WSU job. I guess WSU was so desperate after Paul Wulff that they were willing to hire anybody.

Honestly, at this point in his career young Briles can be had at Miami as an OC. We could offer more money than Houston to bring him in as an OC. Who knows, maybe after two years Richt pulls a Bob Stoops and retires leaving Briles the program.

I don't think we need to bring Briles in as a HC now, but we should definitely get him to Coral Gables ASAP before another Power 5 program snatches him up.
