this play, right here.. this was worse than D'onfrio...

Roman needs to get the sky view of the play. 0 was the over the top help, he guessed, and was on the other side of the field. That play happened because 0 ****ed up.
Even IF 0 was over the top help, 8 Ivey had the flats!

My guess would be Harvey had the flats and jumped the in-cutting route. Ivey had deep 3rd, 24 deep middle, TS2 the other deep 1/3 with JW0 rotating to the other flat due to motion making that the strong side of the field.

He wasn’t in coverage. He was playing with effort and trying to make a play unlike 95% of his teammates.
I believe that to be the case after watching a few times after laughing. Was editing my post as you chimed in. Everybody on defense is just chasing, and I have no idea where Ivey ended up going.

Anyone have some All22 of the game available on Youtube or Russian Tube website?

edit - Just saw the Roman breakdown of the play. lmfao @ Ivey. Man was in outer space.

Its stuff like that, that makes me question why the primary concern is coaching? I can not imagine anyone on this staff teaching that. That corner needs to stay home, even in middle school ball.

Im sure the new Coach Hayes "Good, Bad, Ugly" will be posted by somebody soon..But he broke that play down to the detail and it was ABSOLUTELY a design for DJ to cover that RB. UNREAL. I take back what I said.

And btw, after seeing some his review...Steele gotta go. He can stay for the rest of the season but after the season is over..he needs to be fired along with Gattis.

It doesn’t matter who was at fault on this one particular play really.

It matters that the coverage busts keep happening multiple times weekly. It’s inconceivable. Coverage busts happen but they do not happen every week. Not even at the high school level.

The team is broken. The safeties have no clue what the CBs are doing and vice versa. Addae, Steele, DVD idk who it’s on but you can count on it to continue to happen

Yep, get ready boys…another “Rebuild” year coming up. “We are the champions” of off-season hot tamales and rebuilds.

That would mean man under coverage with TS2 on Wilson, JW0 on the guy in motion, Harvey on 4, Wes on TE, 6 on 9 with Ivey and Kam in two deep... WELL where the F is Ivey!!!! At WORST, 9 gets 10-15 yards with Ivey pushing him out of bounds after the first down and Jackson telling Steele he can't keep up.

Maybe Ivey and JW0 failed to switch with Ivey just staying put and JW0 leaving his zone.

IF 6 was asked to cover the flat or 9, he would have dropped back at the snap vs running towards the line.

Ivey has been asked to do too much and we don't have anyone else that can play outside...the end! Graves is hurt, Blades maybe, Harris/Curtis small.

It’s not just him. All the DBs look like they are being coached by different ppl

as others have said anyone reading into that and thinking it was designed isn't watching football enough. if anything it's more of a lack of explosiveness of a DT as he sholud have been engaged and not able to see the pass, instead he has a weak *** jump off the ball and therefore can see the play develop before getting to the OG

Hey bro..check out his breakdown. Agree or disagree.

He says 6 on 9... which means man under coverage with 6 on 9 BUT Ivey isn't even called out by Hayes which is the real ISSUE. What if they were playing match-up zone? It sill means Harvey missed the guy in the flats.

1st and goal from the 10
D'Onofrio's prevent goal line defense vs Gattis 15 straight runs up the middle offense

Which one would come out on top?

It was a good play call.

Designed to get a free rusher and hit / sack on the QB. And or force a quick pass.

Which it did.

Gotta tip your cap to the QB for getting the ball out just before the shot lands.

I’d love to know what type of defense all y’all experts would call that works 100% of the time.

The kind where the lobotomized (read: madden CIS basement bro’s) are the DC’s

The hoi polloi act like steele is another d’onofrio.

Ridiculous

Let @Coach Macho talk about steele’s bona fides. Every and i mean EVERY DC (and OC) guesses wrong, and even for the good ones, it happens more often than you think. It’s about probabilities, percentages, and tendencies. Any expectations greater than that centered around the “perfectly called game” are woefully misplaced.

And by the way, the call was fine. Might help next time if 0 did his job. It wasn’t 6’s assignment to be in coverage
