Clearly, that’s all teams can do against this offense. They’re gonna have to back off and make us dink and dunk down the field, if they can. Then, like you said, that opens up the run game. The run-blocking will look better once teams realize that not playing two-high against us is asking for Toney and/or Barkate to utterly dominate. I don't know wtf the Stanford DC was doing where Toney was wide open every time Mensah threw it to him.
Lighter boxes will mean we run the ball better.
Incredible to have such a dominant win and so much to clean up. Love it.
Literally couldn’t ask for the schedule to be set up any better. First games are always sloppy in certain aspects. For us, it was run blocking and zone coverage. Those are technique issues. Not talent issues. We have all the talent in the world. We now have game film to study, guys will get their *** chewed by the coaching staff, and the cream will rise to the top in a few weeks. I don’t see what people are so worried about. We got everyone saying we could already be the best team in the country (shocking, right?), and we’re not even close to hitting our ceiling as a team. It’s going exactly the way those of us in the know (and who understand this process) predicted.
I think they knew we would blow this team off the field and they gave them underneath throws to keep the clock moving. I could be sunshine humping. But clearly we were better last year playing press-up, bump and run coverage.View attachment 371585
Heatherman going bend but don't break just to mess with us or faith in the offense?
Rhys Woodrow? My question is when Rodriguez gets hurt who is the backup?Cuban kid from Columbus.

So, yeah, about those 4WR looks, eh?I cant even sleep lol.. And we got a FULL SLATE tomorrow
IDC, IDC.. I love friday games when the whole nation watch us and has Mali still trending on social media.. USC played and Miami was must see tv with soo much hate watching going on.. I ******* LOVE IT..
took 4 or 5 games in 2024 to get the run game rolling. Mario has something to be angry about so that's a good coaching opportunityAre we saving our run game?
Either teams will let us run or they will watch Mensah pick them apart with his many weapons. As long as the o-line progresses, nobody can stop our offenseIf the offensive line finds its groove we will have the No. 1 offense in the country
Felt like Stanford was kinda banking on the OL being green enough if they sold out throwing bodies at it they’d have success. Which they did in run defense, but I was pleasantly surprised how decent the pass pro was. It went about like what I expected from them. Ok, nothing great but it’s game one, completely across the country against a team who has played a real game already. They should just get better.Markel Bell was a guy that seemingly got better every single weekGame 1. Whole new OL. It’s gonna take some time. Plus I’d warrant boxes are gonna super light moving forward. Considering our best player went for 234/3 tonight.
Saw a lot of rotating on OL but also at a few spots on defense. Letting it get sorted out who has what it takes
I had some concerns going into the season, and they remain the same but there is a ton of young talent and good coaching on this team
Pretty Gore likeMallory got 10.3 yards per carry.
I’m going to rewatch for individual reps, but I saw a handful of bad ones live. It happens. Like I said earlier, was more surprised with pass pro looking decent, though also select bad reps there, too. McCoy had a singular bad one that stands out in memory. SJ had an awful one that stands out in memory. RR had a couple tough ones. After rewatch I'm not sure the OLine was that bad in the run game. Stanford had 8 in the box the majority of the game leaving the receivers one on one the whole game vs their cb's...Pass Pro looked great..
