All of this "Fire Al Golden" propaganda is completely over the top. Not saying that the man is deserving of a new contract, but this is not the time to be doing this. Recruits see this stuff and it looks terrible to them.

Turning on our coach after the first game of the season is just ridiculous. You guys dont understand the repercussions that will come along with turning your back on a coach mid-season (starting over: schemes wise, recruiting wise and leadership wise) . In no way am I defending Golden, but it is honestly making us look bad by bashing our coach on any social media site/radio station in miami. Its frustrating to lose, but leave this talk till after the season.

Exactly. Not every recruit is going to be like Mullen. We have fans whining about losing top local recruits, but then their behavior helps to do just that...then of course they can blame the coaches for not "closing."
 
Speaking from experience as a HS athletic director,

You build a strong athletic program with the right coach and staff in place. That is priority one. Sometimes you lose kids to other schools(yes, even and often times in HS) when you go in another direction with your program/coach. Once you get the right staff in though, it always takes care of itself.

Boosters and alumni are an integral part of your program and while their methods of getting their messages across are often not in the best taste, their hearts ARE in the right place and if they are unhappy it is likely for a good reason!
 
I should make a gator twitter handle and spam the guy with Muschamp sucks and don't come to Florida because he's turning it into a joke. If kids take some random *** tweet seriously I got a bridge to sell them also.
 
Its not turning on Al after "just the first game". It's 3 plus years of the same crap and BS excuses.

the way our fans are acting at this moment is an embarrassment. good thing its just 50 or so wannabe comedians who don't really care about the university of miami anyway (see the threads on shalela and the importance of academics to a university, the community and its alumni). i want to win as much as the next guy but most of these posts bashing the staff and the president are beyond absurd.

A lot of those Twitter idiots who tweet negative things at Recruits/Parents of Recruits are FSU/UF fans posing as Miami fans.

That is why Twitter sucks when it comes to CFB Recruiting.

If it were just a "random *** tweet" that would be different. Trayvon was referring to the crap that gets spewed throughout social media such as on this site, as well as twitter. Reading the trash and ignorant nonsense spewed by the fans, Trayvon is absolutely correct. It is shameful and embarrassing to the fanbase.

When you've got "fans" on this very site cheering for Arky State to beat us, it's not hard to believe that those are actual real supposed UM fans tweeting that garbage to recruits.
 
If these recruits wanna leave, show them the door. Im done getting into this recruiting nonsense & buying into these 4* 5*. Gimme a 3* with fire or a 4* like Berrios any day of the week.

Al Golden's job will be decided by his on field performance and record. But regardless of what HE does, or wether he is here in the next year or two or not, we still need TOP RECRUITS. People trashing our staff and program and doing things that can damage our recruiting is STUPID and does NOT help the program.

You want to b*tch on a message board about AG, fine. Write a letter to the AD, to the BOT, the NAACP or EPMD, go ahead. But tweeting recruits and trashing our recruiting boards with negativity, flying banners at big time rivalry games for our program that will be full of recruits, is BEYOND stupid. That will do NOTHING to help get rid of Golden, and will only serve to give more negative impressions of UM and its fanbase and program to recruits that may be on the fence as to what they are going to do.

How QUICKLY people forget Teddy Bridgewater's HATRED of UM fans. Did everyone here forget him punking UM fans at the end of last years Rustle bowl? Dude said he was beyond happy to watch UM fans leaving heartbroken. Basically HATES UM fans, and cited that as a HUGE reason he bailed on UM, for bashing Jacory as much, for one reason. Yes, Shannon getting canned was another, but Bridgewater was ALWAYS very consistent on how much he hates UM fans. A local Miami kid that was committed to us.

But Keep telling yourselves that none of this sh*t matters to these kids and has no effect.
