Look at what Butch did - a program under lock down, no bowls, gave up seven scholarships - and then the NCAA gave him 24 more scholarship losses IN TWO YEARS!

Talk about doing LOTS - with NOTHING - that's Butch Davis.

And anyone that doesn't understand what he really did - can pucker up and French-kiss my pucker.

Agreed, Based on the above, i considered Butch the Best coach ever at the UM.

Omg yeah. He would murder it here man. Plus he’d just worry about his o-line. He’d have a nice OC & DC. I mean anyone is better then Golden 2.0.

I'm beginning to wonder if Mario didn't go and soak up some of that Mojo of what makes the Nicktator such a great coach. He looks like a CEO should look like.

**** Randy had the #1 class in the country and then 2009 was a disaster. Golden had a great class followed with disaster

He's not the Best HC UM has had....
But his evaluating..and recruiting are unmatched in NCAA History....He learned up-close from JJ....

I always am a big believer in that.....u have to stack u cant skip a year and expect to be elite. The roster will become unstable and unbalanced.

And that may be the case and when that’s the case you must gameplan teams to get advantages, we aren’t doing that. We can’t compete with the bags for every recruit. We will still sign good classes but coaching needs to improve before recruiting.

You stack and then hope you hit paydirt with a QB. One of these young QBs is going to grow into a great player I think, but we gotta overcome some things by recruiting on a higher level as well

We should of had the kid thats going to Clemson and we busted our load on the Oregon kid. So stupid

Meaning if all you have to do is recruit, and there were more than ten teams considered elite at recruiting, then the elite teams should’ve replaced the five that dropped out

I also wonder if there are only ten teams considered elite in the ranking system

I consider coaching expertise by what the coach had to overcome, not winning percentags per say.
What did he build? What did he leave behind?
At his acceptance Presser while Butch was being introduced,, Limo-gate is happening.
Worst season 97, 64 scholorships? ****, thats divsion 2 territory. Can't even practice at full speed. Produced a 1000yd rusher that year too.
JJ, incomparable head coach, my favorite.
JJ walks into a full cupboard, NC team, Kosar,Testaverde on deck. WOW.
Butch walks into an iconic brand, soiled by previous administration, brings them back from the dead.
Butch stays, it's us, not BamaSabin..
