This is for all you Star Whores......

You're argument isn't applicable to what WE care about on this site...and that's the correlation between stars and success in COLLEGE FOOTBALL.

Try this little exercise on the back of a napkin the next time you get a chance. List out the last 10 program to win a national title.....and check out their class rankings for the previous 5 years before that respective title was won.

Then come back here and apologize.

That article might deliver the total pwnage you thought it did if UM were trying to win Super Bowls.

LOL at "star whores" being a demeaning term used by the same group of posters who were gloating at this time last year about our "Top 10 class." The only reason certain posters are claiming star rankings are overrated is because this class will end up ranked in the 20s or 30s after three consecutive Top 15 hauls.

From last February: http://www.sbnation.com/college-foo...llege-football-recruiting-teams-championships

Let's first look at the 11 schools who've signed more blue-chips than non-blue-chips over the last four classes. Six play in the Southeast (five SEC teams and one ACC), which is unsurprising, considering that region of the country is far more talented than any other.

The 2014 national champion will likely come from among these 11 schools. After all, every national championship since 2002 has been won by programs in this list of 11.

The 2014 national champion, Ohio State, was on that list. The last 11 national champions have signed more blue-chip recruits than non blue-chip recruits over a four- or more-class span.

Stars certainly aren't the end-all, be-all by any means. Evaluations matter over everything else. But those who claim they don't matter at all as an indicator in 2015 are flat-earthers.

But but but (insert some Cane great here) was only a 2 star recruit in 1997!!!!

Jesu Christo, this freaking shtick is getting old every freaking February. Guess what? When you don't have corches in place that can develop lessor recruited guys then you better **** well at least be able to load your roster with highly rated kids and attempt to stack the deck in your favor based on talent alone that MIGHT compensate for your lack of corching ability. So being anything less than a "star *****" when we have a staff that doesn't develop anyone is just stupid at this point.

"Star whores" is up there w/ "mopers" as two of the worst and overused terms ever on this site.

And so often the same posters use both, bc they don't have a decent argument.
