Man, I have been thinking about that. I understand that the CFP has meaning (and generates a lot of money) but the fact is that a natty is only in reach to a small number of schools under the current system. More importantly, competing for, and possibly winning, a conference championship still has value. I find it annoying when the only discussion is limited to potential CFP implications.
