It was also the journalist jinx lol they had that whole ESPN article drop before the game (good article if you havent read it) about how he fumbled as a TF in the state championship game as they were driving and Bain recovered it and they lost. So since that time he has been on a tear. The author really used that moment as the lynchpin when things changed and he couldnt be stopped. Literally the last line of the article was something like "And since that day he has yet to fumble again since" low and behold lost one on Saturday

That HS fumble story was the 1st thing I thought about when he fumbled against A&M. It was part of what drove him to be such an obsessive and hard worker to get better.
