Think We’ll Be Alright

And yet we still lost a game we were double-digit favorites against.

Did you have a point to make?

First half of the season indicates this isn’t a fluke team unlike past iterations of the last 20 years (which you brought up). Get over your Ptsd.

It’s reasonable to think a loss may serve as a wake up call for the 2025 Canes.

We beat a good-not-great ND team, with a 1st time starter, at home, on a 48 yard FG in the final minute.

UF and FSU are bad. USF would be a 7-5 P4 team.

We're the same team we've been for nearly 25 years.
ND was literally in the national championship last year. We dominated them until we went conservative at the end. Save me the “they are not a great team”

Their only other loss was by 1 — on the last play of the game — to A&M.

"Dominated until" = we didnt dominate lol

Enjoy defending the same crap over and over
I’m not defending anything. You’re trying to downplay beating a team who played in the national championship last year. We controlled the vast majority of that game. We looked like we belonged. The mental gymnastics are crazy. You can be mad at the Louisville result and not diminish what else this team accomplished. Two things can be true at once.

Where did you have this team’s record before the season started? I had them at 8-4 and 3-3 through the first six games.

We’re 5-1 and a top 10 team.

As frustrating and pitiful that performance was on Friday night why are we discarding everything else over a loss to a good Louisville team?

We didn't play last year's ND team. BTW, that team beat Penn St and UGA with its backup QB.

In any case, yes, this team has a top 10-15 resume. Nice starting point for our annual collapse.

10-2

That is this program's ceiling. Friday won't be the final loss.

**** yeah boys!!!

We are 5-1 and a Top 10 team!!! That’s exactly the standard at Miami especially in year 4 with a “built” roster of Mario’s own kids he recruited.

When is the banner getting hung up at the Hecht?

“Annual collapse” means you’re incapable of looking at the merits and negatives of the season through 6 games without losing your mind

Lol does it make you feel better inside to reflexively strawman like this? I’ve been extremely critical of Mario.

I don't know if we will be alright the rest of this year, but we lost to Louisville because our fifth-year senior QB, who we are reportedly paying $3m+, threw 4 (or 5) very stupid and bad INTs. We 99% would have won the game had he simply not done that. There were guys he didn't throw it to who were wide open on 3 (or 4) of them. We 100% would have won the game had he, instead of throwing the ball to guys on the other team, threw the ball to guys on his team who were wide open for first downs. We averaged 3 points per drive on our 7 drives that didn't end in an INT drives. We lost by 3 points. Good luck arguing that we would have averaged less than 1 point per drive on the 4 that Beck threw INTs on.

I think many good points (and many not so good) have been made about Mario, Dawson, our run game, Mirabel, our tackling, the current state of Schrodinger's WR, etc. All these points & issues are secondary/tertiary to why we lost to Louisville.

We lost to them because Beck threw 4 (or 5) INTs that he should not have thrown. The end.

I'm on to Stanford!

You seem fun at parties. I’ll be the first to admit I was wrong if we collapse. But I’m also not trying to manifest it into existence. Be depressed if you want.
