Things We Have Not Seen This Season

A shutout
A pick six by the D
A fumble recovery returned for a TD
A blocked punt
A punt returned for a TD
A kickoff returned for a TD
A +50 TD Run
A +50 Reception TD

UNC is ripe for the picking to get some of these chunk plays. I have us getting a Pick 6, Homer a +50 yard TD run and Richards will get a +50 yard TD reception.

Would much rather see any of these against VT or ND!

Not having a pick 6, KO/PR return TD, etc, makes 6-0 even that much more impressive.

If we catch a few of those breaks down the stretch, we could be looking at a really nice season.

Dont remember ever being called for offensive holding. Im sure we have a few but its insane the difference from last year. Searels is easily our coaching MVP this year

Specials seem entirely void of aggression in all aspects

One problem we appeared to be having was that we were almost always going for blocks on punts rather than setting up for returns, just allowing Berrios to fair catch them. Now we seem to be going for returns more, which is really the wiser choice as blocks are low percentage plays. Hopefully we'll spring one for a TD soon. At a minimum it could help us with field position on more drives.

This can't be stressed enough. We are catching exactly ZERO breaks. HurricaneVision pointed it out in his Syracuse recap, the **** ball just keeps bouncing the other way. They fumble, they recover. They shank a punt, it rolls 20 more yards down to the 5. We tip a pass, it falls harmlessly into empty space...yet we still keep winning. The media and opposing fan bases love throwing around the word "lucky" when describing the Canes this year, but we have been everything but. Our boys are winning games on grit and determination. We start getting "lucky," they won't be able to stop us.

Unbalanced offensive line in goal line situations. Mark Whipple used it effectively, and Stanford runs the **** out of it!

This is throwing spaghetti at the wall (and we've shown no inclination/ability to do it yet) but I'd love to see a blocked punt for a TD against Vag Tech. Force the announcers to be like "Special Teams USED to be a Vag Tech/Frank Goiterneck strength! My oh my this place is rocking as the Canes go up 21-0 early with that TD!"

Anybody holding their breath for a shutout needs to let that ship sail. Shutouts in college football are incredibly rare in 2017. Even the best defenses give up points these days.
