They never learn, Indiana DC talking ****

Oregon ran for 93 yards on them. Now, that seems unimpressive at first, but then consider that -28 yards went against that on sacks. Then consider that Oregon basically had nobody available to play RB for the game. Finally, Oregon was down so much at halftime due to turning the ball over that they essentially went pass only for most of the game. And still, had 93 yards.

IDK, maybe they are as great as everyone is making them out to be. But those lanes looked like they were there early in the game, and our Oline is a different animal than anybody else's in the country.

This is the first time I had heard of the not practicing thing, so I had to look it up. I learned that they simulate tackling by using THUD drills, which I had never heard of before. I’m sure plenty of y’all have, but I thought this was cool.

And Canes bias aside, as a CFB fan, I am fascinated to see how our two teams are going to match up against each other in the fourth quarter.

On how they simulate tackling without doing as much in practice…
CC: We do a tackling circuit before practice and guys coach the fundamentals of tackling and we thud. The last three or four years we haven't tackled every scrimmage, and the last three years we have tackles in the spring game. The last couple, we didn't tackle at all in the fall and still led the country in run defense and second in the country in least amount of yards. Good players can tackle. Ankle stiff, knee and hip stiff athletes have a hard time tackling.

May be able to simulate tackling but you can’t simulate getting hit and they about to get punched in the mouth by the most FiZiCAl team they’ve faced the last two seasons….
