funny thing is, the WEZ is full of actual alums of the school. this guy talking bout how were hurting the team when were the group of people that gave the school more money than anyone else here if you count tuition.

I may be naive but I don't think the negativity of the forum has anything to do with it. We've never gotten a complaint about it from the school, nor did we ever get a complaint about the WEZ.

The only issues have been related to the disclosure of information. I get it- guys like Belichick and Saban are as paranoid as it gets. But the ironic thing is that Pete doesn't report his conversations with players, and we withhold a ton of information for the good of the program. The Marques Gayot injury is a very recent example.

There's been parents of recruits who've backed off this site, and you've got Kaaya posting on IG about silencing ****** UM fans. The kids see it, the parents see it, it's embarrassing and i'm sure the admin has been made aware of it. Think about how many "email the BOT and James Blake" threads you've seen on here.

I think the reason Golden has focused on Pete is because he is the only reporter who is actually breaking stories. He doesn't have to worry about the other guys.

Even when he let them into practice, they didn't know what they were watching. Every outlet but this one reported Heaps was winning the job.

Theory is that fat worthless pig with no future Tim Reynolds complained to UM and Golden about Pete.

I remember him crying like a bltch about this website in the past. Probably tired of being out scooped by Pete, too.

I do honestly wonder if there is some resentment from the traditional media outlets when an up-and-comer like Pete (or CIS in general) "breaks" a story first, or develops better rapport with key players (as Pete has done with Kaaya, AQM, Bush, etc.). Some people like Barry Jackson have cited/credited Pete, while others (like Reynolds) seem to feel as though Pete is violating antiquated journalism ethics.

My HOPE is that if media members were partially responsible for this freeze-out, that they would kindly recall how frustrated they were when David J Neal -- who unlike Pete was directly negative of the team he was covering in his stories -- was blackballed by FIU. If they were outraged over that (and it was not just the Herald -- others banded together as well), they should be outraged over this.

As for Golden, keeping personal thoughts on his coaching style and performance out of this entirely, I am disappointed he would freeze out a UM student like Pete who loves the Canes and has done nothing but promote the program and share interesting but innocuous information. I sincerely hope if Coach Golden or any of his associates are reading this thread that they strongly reconsider their decision.

And for Pete -- use this as positive motivation and don't fight fire with fire. Part of continuing your career arc is learning to work around obstacles like these by continuing to do solid reporting.
