This way, Bama and BYU can both play their way in with wins without having to drop them from the playoffs with losses. If both win, ND and Miami are out. If only one wins, ND is out.

That’s the most practical way… and I even say that loosely because I don’t think Oklahoma belongs AT ALL!

They probably won’t do it, but ranking Bama behind Miami this week is the easiest way for the committee to wash their hands of next week’s mess and just let it play out on the field.

Miami jumped three spots in FPI and Bama dropped one. In SP+, Miami moved up two and Bama fell two, putting Miami a few spots ahead. Just got a ranked win while bama barely beat a coachless **** team. The move could be justified.

They have zero accountability and are literally showing us they are making up the rules as they go along. I’ve seen this song and dance too many times against Miami. Not enough pressure to protect us.

We literally live in a world where facts and logic don’t matter. No reason for me to believe it’ll be different in college football.

They had a 3 loss bama ahead of miami last year. In a 12 team playoff. A team that lost to 6-6 vandy and got demolished by 5-6 oklahoma right near the end of the year. So I have 1 data point out of 1 year that says otherwise. Of course they conceivably bump bama down and put miami in, I wasnt trying to insinuate it was "impossible" just more so I dont believe it.

Miami had just lot to SU and lost 2 of 3
They weren't deserving like this year either

If they are 10th tomorrow and weren't playing in title game they would be in regardless. They will not punish a team for winning the opportunity to play for a conference title. We have a better chance or ND being dropped...

When has a team not been punished for losing a CC game?
It's a 1 spot drop if they lose

GFY. I have been following Miami football for over five decades, douchebag. Just because I can see and think clearly doesn't make me a Notre Dame fan. It means that I can look at the season through something resembling an objective perspective. And the objective perspective is that Miami has not had anything like a great season. We had a ridiculously easy schedule, one good win, and two lousy, completely inexcusable losses. That is not a record worthy of a playoff team. Miami **** the bed against two lousy teams, one of which was at home. We get what we get.

So bama shouldn't be in. There lousy loss worth 4 of Miami's

But I agree bama has to win SEC now

If that's how you see it, I guess, but I'd argue that your perception might be a little tainted by disappoitnment. Yes, we lost two that could easily have been W's. One came after 1 game in 27 days when we had played 3 straight state rivals (USF may be a rival only in name, but we do recruit the same kids at some level and those we don't want have a little extra motivation). We were due for a letdown and still could have pushed this into OT with a FG before Beck through a pick trying to win the game. SMU was far from our best effort. But, don't forget we had a first-time starter at WR who made two costly mistakes, injuries at RB, and as much as I hate the referreeing excuse, we did get the shortend on several key calls that day. Still, one play away from taking an OT lead and the D was solid all day until it was obvious they were winning. And neither SMU nor Louisville sucked, Loisville fell hard after their best players got hurt and SMU was very good at home this year, inconsistent on the road.
We did knock off 4 ranked opponents when we faced them, and the USF and Florida wins were not even close. The FSU score was deceptively close as FSU always manages to make things look ok with garbage time scores after the game is essentially over, and ND was close only because we went into a shell in the 4th Q.
ND wasn't beating anyone good when they ran scores up, and they had it a bit easier wehn their 0-2 start made it look like they were out of it. Miami is no worse than the same as ND, and given we defeated them on the field, we deserve the bid over them.
