Bumped this because expectations should be high for Mario out of the gate. This isn't a situation like Golden or Randy walked into with pretty bare cupboards.

Williams - Harvey - Flagg - Keontra - Taylor - Kichens - Arroyo - Rooster - Chaney - Key - Brashard- TVD - Garcia - Avantae - Smith.. the cupboard is not bare. OL and CB is a real mess after next season but there's real talent here to work with. That's my silver lining.

And after all the hysterics about a million guys transferring I think we're just talking about Pope and Wiggins. So whatever.

Agree but I wouldn’t put guys like Flagg in that group. He’s a marginal low P5 kid.

But yeah, we have some real nice pieces on offense and defense - just need more of them.

Offense: 2/4/5/7/13/15/12/80/60/74/9
Defense: 33/56/81/4/0/24/15

Those are really good kids - 17/18 guys that are mostly first and second year kids. We just need another 15 guys like that and we’re cooking.

Disagree on Flagg. He's started to show me something the last 2 games. I really think there's something there.

doesnt matter because half those guys are hitting the portal at the end of the season.

Mark my words, next year will be the worst Miami team that any of us have ever seen. 1 or 2 wins is entirely possible.

Based on what? That's ridiculous hyperbole. Could be those kids like playing together and like being at Miami in spite of the present situation.

There’s some young , younger dogs on this roster. Who shake their head at some of the older guys and their attitudes. Hopefully they stick around.
Reminiscent of the early Butch era. And just like now those older guys were butthurt and angry. But those young guys were willing to stick it out. That's why the right hire is so crucial here.

As a backup? Sure. Don’t get me wrong, he’s serviceable but he’s very limited physically. But, it’s all we got so….

No ideally he wouldn't be our starting MLB right there but I see the toughness and instincts. Get him a real DC and LB coach and I think he'd surprise.

There have been seasons where an actual good coach could've won the Coastal with all of our backups (sans maybe the o-line). We've consistently done less with more than almost anyone. Depth might be a concern for next year but it sure as **** ain't THE concern.

There have always been pieces here. The only time that you could have made that argument was after Coker. Every year this team is ranked top 10-15 in recruiting rankings. The problem is we don't have coaches that develop that talent and use it properly. Every year "the future is bright" and "play the young guys." The coaches aren't developing the talent.

The roster is such that the next guy can win 8 next year and maybe 10 in 23 depending on how this class pans out (hint it looks bad now).

If Manny is still the coach, sure. But if the right hire is made then you're looking at a roster that can win some meaningful games.

that roster you're looking at is going to be a shell of itself at the end of the season. Other schools such as UF are literally recruiting guys like Leonard Taylor, James Williams. Alot of our young talented core are looking for a way out.

Regardless of who the new coach is?

If a Lane Kiffin comes in, you don't think the young talent stays at Miami? They came to Miami only to play for Manny Diaz?

I dont see that happening.
