Not happening. They aren’t punishing Bama for playing a conf champ game. If they did, Sankey would pull the SEC from the playoff completely

They are talking out of their *** and using Chat GPT at this point for talking points and reasoning as to why ND should be ahead.
It’s pretty clear they want ND in and are going to create whatever narrative necessary to do so.

Last week it was “2 bad losses”. Now that SMU is ranked they can’t use that so they’ve created a metrics (SOR/Efficiency) narrative to keep nd ahead.

Next week if those metrics no longer favors their narrative they’ll come up with some new bs narrative. Everything to avoid the most important discriminator - actual on field results.

I dont expect us to jump tonight - but the closer we get and if we beat pitt convincingly - it's going to get dicey

this level of blatant bias to get ND in affects everyone and the future of OOC for EVERYONE is immediately up in the air (aka millions of potential loss revenue)

if it was just ******** us, that's one thing. but if they are going to dismantle OOC games for the entire nation while also kinda ******** bama into the 10 seed - then that's where they messed up and why there's some hope

I'm not saying they'll put us in over ND... I'm saying that coaches, teams, conferences, media, etc. that are NOT Miami affiliated will be chiming in pretty heavy if we beat pitt because this result directly influences major scheduling decisions and eliminates any point of playing OOC
I feel you; but even though we lost to Cuse & GT last year; I felt we were robbed by Alabama’s placement on top of us. I am kinda just becoming reserved to it.

I don’t expect anyone to say anything tbh. They’re all but signaling that there’s little we can do to get in. Mf making 6-7 jokes on national TV smfh lol.

I believe the best opportunity for us is if Lane’s *** leaves to LSU & they drop them out for us. But it is rivalry week so emotions will be high & anyone can lose.

Wake Forest already dropped ECU from the schedule; more may be on the way as a fallout if we don’t make it. We need a big domino to fall more than we need the committee to do right by us if that makes sense

The committee has already said they won’t penalize teams for being in conf games. IMO the only way it could help us is if one of those conf games is a blowout but that is unlikely.

We need help THIS weekend.

Depends which QB turns up for Texas A&M. That kid is Jekyll and Hyde.

well that went about as bad as moving up could go

straight said they measured us, accounted for head to head, and we're 3x teams behind

we need chaos or we're out

If we don't get lucky in the ACC we want SMU to win the ACC-CG, no? At the very least it would make ranking ND ahead of us even more absurd, since we'd both have lost to a playoff team, both beaten the same 4 teams, both have the same record, and we'd have won the h2h (which apparently in the year 2025 doesn't matter)

It’s frustrating because I think it’s wrong what the committee is doing but I also blame the team and coaches. It was simple. Beat the teams you should easily beat. And we should have easily went undefeated in the conference this year. I know the refs played a part. But the lack of focus and readiness in the Louisville game was very disappointing. Especially after a bye week. And the SMU loss definitely shouldn’t have happened. We can never seem to go a season without a couple losses we shouldn’t have.

Hate that we lost to 2 teams we shouldn't have. Also hate this CFP committee bs.

tl;dr hate more

No matter what we need to play Pitt with the mindset that we need to crush them.

Is it an unfair standard? Absolutely but it would be nice to force the committee to explain why nd is ahead of us if we own the H2H AND our pitt win is better.

the committee rules state that common opponent results are win loss only, that margin of victory in those games is not a factor?

So if that's the case and we have the same record against common opponents, the only thing left is head to head which should have been the first factor anyways?
