MEGA There’s Still Hope for the ACCCG/CFB Playoffs Mega Merge Thread

Us and USC should jump Utah and Vandy this week. Honestly BYU too....
Miami is better than Utah and shouldn’t have been ranked behind them entering yesterday, but Utah looked dominant last night in a convincing win. So did BYU.

We got screwed when they put us at 18. It should be us in front and them catching up, but it isn’t.

Hard to ding them when they take care of business.

I think you missed a few excuses. Injuries, bye weeks, refs, Manny, coordinators, Friday games, acc pride. You're doing a great job.
na injuries happen, bye weeks whatever, refs sucked vs smu but whatever
Manny is was a joke, Mario corrected all he did to bury the program
Friday Saturday who cares, but think all games should be Saturday, like NFL Sunday-Monday better
Thursday night is dumb

you have 1 mission its Mario, sad life you live

everyone associated with the program needs to spend the next two weeks yelling that

"Miami will NOT play at Notre Dame next year if both teams win out and Notre Dame is selected and not Miami.

If that occurs, it proves beyond a doubt that ACTUALLY WINNING A GAME AGAINST COMPETITION is meaningless"
Only if we replace them with Florida International.

It is that time of the year that Canes Naysh becomes Al-Khwarizmi and Leonhard Euler over here with all the math they are doing.

FWIW, all state playoff predictor (yes i know espn blah blah) comparing it to last week miami went down despite the victory from 14% to 11% - take with grain of salt but it is comparing consistently even if you think it sucks.

not trying to be negative but a reality check here- winning out is not enough. funny how all the people who rely on odds week to week based on stats and models now think they are all bull**** and we are all great at getting 6-8 team parlays like always.

More threads begging, when we did it to ourselves.
Look i get it we're fans and it's easy to be ****ed about our mistakes, but we're debating multiple teams with multiple losses... everyone "did it to themselves". Bama dominated yesterday and lost because of turnovers and penalties, basically our lville loss. Texas lost to ******* Florida and people are still saying they could make it in. ND lost to the only two good teams they played, one of which is us.

I think most reasonable people just want to be held to a consistent standard, and these clowns are obviously biased against us, regardless of who did it to themselves.

It's possible. But if we struggle vs Pitt and they dominate their last 2 opponents, not so sure.
It would be 2 opponents we beat by a combined 63 points. They beat Pitt by 22. If we win out it shouldn’t matter. We have ND in almost every metric that matters. It would be a ridiculous situation if both teams are on the bubble and they put ND in and not Miami.

I don’t know a single person outside this board who thinks a 10-2 ND gets in over a 10-2 Miami. The head to head will break the tie after all games are played.

Instead, it should be the highest ranked team. You want your best teams to have a chance at the playoffs.
I’m not sure why these leagues don’t go to the playoff rankings breaking the tie. SEC is going to be in the same spot with crazy tiebreakers coming into play.

Brad Crawford said in a video that Miami has to get to the ACC championship and win it to get in the playoffs. 🤣🤣. This **** is a joke. But Mario did this to us. He said the committee already showed that Miami beating ND doesn’t help them. He said 10-2 at large bid won’t happen for the Canes

The committe needs to evaluate the resume as a whole not week to week.

Other results impact what you thought of Utah. Utah lost to BYU and was killed by TTU at home, and their ONLY "good" win was Cinci who the committe put at 25 to keep them decently highly rated, and they just went ahead and lost. Meanwhile ND is likely moving up which Increases our quality win even more.

Vandy lost to bama and texas and has no good wins, and bama and texas just lost.

This is a really good post. The committee has moved teams around in the past on seemingly innocuous results because of other stuff like this. They reevaluate everyone's resume every week. Teams resumes get stronger and weaker each week not only based on that team's results but also on what their past opponents are doing. People on this board see that Utah won big so they think they can't go down. But their only good win was diminished in value.

IF that happens then there is hope. Maybe they see 3 games of holding an opponent under 150 yards and the offense coming together against a team over .500 as “what they’re looking for”.

But with Utah and BYU splattering their opponents I don’t see it. Jumping Vandy isn’t happening. They’re SEC.
Vandy’s best win is a Missouri team who didn’t have their starting QB. They have zero ranked wins.

We should be #13 this week. I don’t expect us to jump Utah yet, even though we should. But at the end of the year, if we’re both 10-2, I think we get a nod.

Only reason we wouldn’t is because their AD is the new chair of committee, which is bull****.

I do think there’s a chance we jump Vandy this week. I don’t know how you put them ahead of Texas when Texas just kicked their *** two weeks ago, but I also don’t think they’ll have 3 loss Texas ahead of us.

Exactly. Is it too late to somehow get you on the committee?

Didn’t the Arkansas AD get the chairman position?
