The worst thing about this nonsense is implicitly represented here

Not the actual board opinions because everyone calling these terrible coaches out is correct. The honeymoon for Diaz is basically over after nearly losing to a near bottom feeder at home. Sorry it's true. And I thought we would honestly get 9-10 games after seeing a lot of positives early. I thought the 'kinks' would get worked out by Enos and Baker would have as remaining as aggressive animals. Neither are true and our punter may be one of the top 5 players on the team.

The worst thing is I realized when reading these threads/posts, etc. and I see member signatures/and/or references to things in the past, 98-99% of the time I only see positive things from over 15 years ago. Outside of the Langham catch against FSU or Bandy's ND interception:

It's an Ed Reed quote in someone's signature, or a reference to Michael Irvin, something about Highsmith or Jerome Brown, or to attitude and fatigues, references to Carlos Jones famous interception, or Edgerrin James UCLA game, My reference to Tremain Mack, or to Santana Moss, something about Gore or obviously remembering Sean Taylor, etc. There is almost NOTHING else left to really discuss in the last 15 years ago based on people's historical referencing on here. This program
used to be known for being innovating with 4 wr concepts with our athletes, or prioritizing speed on defense, or even our training regiment under Moffitt.

Now? All that this program has that is culturally relevant anymore in college football is the retarded turnover chain and now touchdown rings. It's like a caricature onto itself that meaningless trinkets pervade the program and its general attitude (see parallel of players dancing after nearly losing to a bottom feeder at home) and nothing of substance represents this program anymore. In the last 15 years the only imitators we have spawned are people who now have a turnover pencil, backpack, etc. That's it.

^^^ Doesn’t realize we haven’t lost at home.

Or maybe we could give it at least halfway through the first season to see what happens?

-We lost to a UF team we admittedly should have won but we gave up ten sacks and had trash playcalling a lot of the game. See these last two key points as we have REGRESSED to this same point or worse through four games this year.

-We lost to a UNC team that got beat up by Wake Forest and Appalachian State in the next two weeks. Think about that.

-We almost lost at home to a team that finished 1-11 last year. This same team dominated our offensive line much of the game and on the other side of the ball had numerous guys drop WIDE OPEN balls with plenty of green in front of them. We should have lost this game.

Will two more games help you out more when:

1) Offense has issues from playcalling, to the line. Penalties are all over the place. Our placekicker is scared to death of kicking anything not straight ahead. Defense is showing far less pressure in comparison to last year and allowed a true freshman at UNC to light us up. When there are THIS MANY issues it's not one or two or three things the problems are SYSTEMIC. When it is SYSTEMIC then the issue is the head coach.

So you feel completely confident that he can’t coach after four games, I’m impressed by your clairvoyance. Sorry, if it takes me a bit longer to pass judgment.

Not clairvoyance. Notice how each of my posts provides a lot of detail while you make ad hoc statements. That's usually a sign not to take the person you're arguing with seriously.

You do realize that on paper we have dramatically more talent than the team yesterday, right? Yet they dominated a large part of the game. That is called poor coaching and in all facets. We regressed in a lot of ways yesterday.

How you view me is of zero concern to me, I’m merely questioning the logic or lack there of in trying to make judgements on his ability off of four games. It’s comical actually.

When we lost to Alabama in the 92 Sugar Bowl I was dejected. We were playing for the national championship. When Erickson was asked if he had done any special planning, he said he was gonna stick with what got us there. I thought that was a tad cavalier, but we're the Canes. We're gonna dominate and have 5 rings in 10 years. We were humiliated 34-13. It would have been 34-6, but they threw us a bone at the end of the 4th quarter. Erickson didn't stick around long after that, just long enough to get an NFL offer.

Then Butch came in along with all the NCAA sanctions. As the seasons went on, you really felt like our time in the sun was long past. We were even graced with a banner in 1997, "From national champs to national chumps. Thanks, Butch." That was our 5-6 season. Before that, 8, maybe 9 wins and we had some decent players, but not like before. By the 2000 season, you started to see where we were going. Nobody expected the loss to Washington, and you started to realize we were pretty good again.

That's why people look to the past. We've been down before and we got back up because of the right staff and players. Now its just a matter of whether or not this is the right staff for our next rise. After 4 false starts, we're getting impatient. The window for producing results is getting shorter. Show us that we're headed in the right direction instead of stagnating. There is no "good enough" for the Miami Hurricanes. Show us you know that. Make us proud again.
