I still don't buy the whole "their relationship is strained" story. Do you nominate someone that supposedly you aren't happy with for the Broyles award? He's never once attacked Dorito, hes always blamed the offense.

The whole assistants angle isn't gonna work here. Golden had that opportunity and he lost it. Its either he gets fired or he and the rest of his staff coming back for a horrific 2015. At least thats how I see it.

How about if Folden fired the DC last year, and the new DC improved our defense to a top 15 ranking, but we lost 6 games. Would the dumb faqqots on here be calling for the new DC's head?

I don't buy that story either, but him nominating Dorito for the Broyles could just as well be a weak attempt to enhance his resume while helping Dorito get a soft landing spot.

It may have been a top 20 total defense, but look at that stats that matter such as 3rd down percentage rushing yards allowed (which melts the clock down completely) we may be top 20 because teams run the ball 50 times a game and throw 7 which will make the game very short. So yes he may have fielded a top 20 defense, but all the stats that matter we are ranked like 60-70. With the talent on this team anything above 20 is uncalled for. So the answer to your question can't be answered stats would be top "15".

Wait, is that the real Ted Hendricks that played for us and is in Ring of Honor?

He's my favorite player, I'm a Raiders fan, and I look like him a little bit. So in my head I'm related to him in some way. But no. I'm not actually Ted Hendricks.

I'm a Raider fan too. Can't bare seeing the state of both these teams. How the mighty have fallen since 2001...

While firing the whole lot makes all the sense in the world, this administration is not working for the same objective we are. Therefore any thing is possible. They could kept Al and force some firings, or just kept the whole bunch just as easy as firing them. Logic and reason left the campus long ago. IF Al had a brain cell, HE would fire whole defensive staff except Ice. Then he would hire Butch frigging Davis as DC and turn it over to him. That would quiet most of the lynch mob and guy him two more years. Letting Butch take on at least the defensive recruiting would make huge difference. Butch would not be HC and that might be enough to get him pass administration. Nobody is giving Butch a HC shot, so I figure he would take it. I don't think an assistant jib would get the ncaa all upset. Then the most damage Al could do would be with his horrible ST coaching.

Give it up on Butch already. It's not going to happen. Does no one remember that he was fired from UNC because of a MAJOR academic scandal, and that Miami is presently on NCAA probation? Or how about the fact the Trustees felt burned by the way he left in the first place? Butch will NEVER be involved with Miami again. You might as well be talking about bringing Bear Bryant back from the dead.

Top 15 in yards per game.

Scoring defense was in the 40s.

I have this bad feeling all we will get is Doritos fired, Paul Williams moved to DC, and some new inexperienced recruiter corch for DBs.

We're only top 15 because we beat up on the likes of Fla A&M, Arkansas State, etc. Look at the power 5 only and Miami is average on defense.

Butch was vindicated after the fact that he had nothing to do with that scandal. I don't see them firing their BB coach over it? I hate that everyone puts that scandal on Butch

I sadly believe this is correct.

The Board of Trustees screwed him, not the other way around.
