The Work 2-3

**Look for Miami to pick up a player or two after signing day. They are expected to have a couple of extra scholarships available. There is a decent chance that Brayden Lenius pushes his signing back after Wednesday. If he does that, he will most likely take a trip to Miami.

Lol Lenius aint no JAG.

1. Because what Pete said was the we were going to get Lenius
2. Yeah, ok.

He said we were looking to sign kids after signing day, then used Lenius as an example of a kid who will wait to sign after signing day. LOL It's sort of implied.

And I'm not sure if you're trying to say Lenius is a jag or not, but if you are, you need to watch his tape, and if you already have and still think he's a JAG, you don't know football. Sorry.

I'm over the whole picking up players after signing day bull****. Golden just needs to get it done, enough with the band aids.

My questiion is if you Get Treon do you drop Rosier...but the staff honestly needs to just save the schollies..
unless its a top prospect we do not need any more scrubs ...
Not Pete, but I think you take them all at QB. Rosier or Treon (or both) could end up at a position other than QB in the next few years.

Those who are asking if we need to "drop a QB" don't remember how turrible our QB situation was behind Japicky after Marve transferred (Cannon Smith/Taylor Cook). Then Smith/Cook transferred, and we had the illustrious Spencer Whipple.

My point is--if you have the opportunity to stockpile QB's, you do it.

So if another guy like Corn wants in after signing day, we should tell him to **** off?

thanks for the work, pete.

**Despite Travonte Valentine’s mother saying it is “50-50” between Miami and LSU, you should not read too much into that. He is LSU-bound and Miami knows that. There was a glimmer of hope heading into the weekend that the Canes would have a small shot of landing him, but the fact that he did not take his official sealed it. People can debate all day about what ultimately caused his decommitment, but I have heard more and more talk that it has to do with him wanting to play in an aggressive scheme. That “development” is not a surprise.

I say it is a surprise. Look at TV's quotes even the firt week of December...doesn't really talk a whole lot about scheme here. If it was as big as HE said it is (notice I said He, not "they" meaning his camp), he would not have said these things imo.

Valentine says given UM's struggles up front in games this year that "I think I can help. I'll go in the weight room, be physical at practice and we'd figure out the situation during the season (if he'd start or come off the bench)." "They had a pretty good year, are doing fine," he said. "Other than not playing in the ACC championship game you can see they're a step closer. Next year should be a pretty good year. They're probably going to end up in a good bowl game, so they're alright, just need a few more people to complete that team.

The word crootin has been banned. Please refrain from using this word. We have a good class...lol. Not sure why everyone is so negative.

How about not having to rely on the waiver wire because we whiffed on our top prospects. That would be a start. Getting Corn is fine, but you don't have to go out and pull this **** year in and out if you get the players that are on the top of your board. And yes its a band aid because you can't do it every year and be successful

Good to have you back Pete. I have come to terms with TV's sale to LSU. The upside is his loss kills Al's 3-4. No NT for Al. Class has fine DTs for a 4-3 though and great DEs for one. I am hoping Al has no choice for to change. I like getting Treon now. Clearly FSU used him so maybe him and Ice will be more reasonable if he doesn't make it at QB. Between this and the whole "we own your rear" last year with the LB, BTW should have a clear vision of what the criminoles are like.

Courtel Jenkins is a NT all day and twice on sunday. Not to mention there are several under the radar types out there.

Remember AG when he was a 3* Temple developed NT Terrance "Pot Roast Knighton who plays for the Denver Broncos.

I'm all for poaching 5th year seniors that will contribute(aka O'Donnell, Gilbert)But I'd rather not waste a Scholly on Corey King types.

It's not like we're the only school that hits a waiver wire dude. This **** happens all over the country. I agree that we shouldn't have to rely on it, but if some studs are without a school after NSD, i see nothing wrong with trying to pull some of those kids in.

Ugh, that TV loss is crushing. Knowing our history, would any long time Cane fan ever think that a recruit would turn us down because we weren't aggressive enough on D? These are sad days indeed.

Corn is a good player to pick up after NSD. As was Griffin (except we know the deal). I don't mind getting guys like this after NSD. If you are referring to the 2011 class, that is unfair IMO. The guy was here for 6 weeks and was trying to bring some kids in.

I'm with AU here. It's not surprising to me that as we heard more about Genron's involvement with the kid, we heard more about "scheme." I think scheme fit is an excuse. But this is just my opinion.
