The Work 2-15

With us going from a 3-4 to a 4-3 a few of the hybrids like Smith and Harris might now go fulltime to LB giving us less spots for this years LB class.

What? Huh? Smith and Harris are more d ends in the 4-3 than they are lbs.
Have you not been reading the board in regards to what richt is looking for in his lbs??

Miller's film is impressive. Must get for this class. I like Marchiol and Wilder as well.

Miller, Wilder and the kid from American Heritage. We might be planning on only 2 now but linebacker is a high churn position, I imagine we take at least 3.

Never should anybody give a recruiting position a num, coaches from other schools use that against you, as far as dropping steed that may be The worst decision ever, kid is a player, and fast for an lb, its time to take back central, also we should def take 3 this class, I'm curious though cause I thought steed was safe from a previous report

Does anyone know about Gayot? Even without him, we have 9 LBers returning in 2017 and 7 in 2018. Adding 2 will give us 11 for 2017 and 9 in 2018 without counting Gayot or possibly Mike Smith. That's a 3 deep every year at least for 3 years (16,17,18). I think the numbers make sense here. We don't need as many backers in a 4-3 and we will probably be in a 4-2 most of the time anyway

I was waiting for someone else to say it..I wasnt gonna be the first one because if you say anything against Richt you get crucified..(Translation: I agree it would be a mistake to drop Steed.)

I would much rather have steed over dunning. Hope everything works out, I also realize you can't over recruit a position but then again I hate to play devils advocate but everyone doesn't always pan out

If there are better players than Steed then why should they not take them? We are gonna be back in for the highest caliber prospects.

I'm not so sure, both are a step slow for LB but also very small for DE,especially Smith at around 230.

I saw Colson play live when HML beat up Hialeah. He was a man amongst boys. I had no idea who he was but I figured he was an underclassman that would transfer somewhere. I know Hialeah isn't the greatest team in Dade but they got some kids that can play and Colson. He was on another level size and strength wise and he could move as well.

2 LBs in THIS cycle? Wow. That really means they are only looking for 1 then because you hold a spot for DWilder. That is very surprising. They must have the utmost confidence that the Bermuda Triangle in no way will bust. And that Owens is going to come back 100%.

I am intrigued by this Colson kid..Anybody know anything about him?

I had a similar reaction. They might also love Charles Perry. Maybe the staff doesn't envision many snaps where we have 3 LBs on the field. Maybe we will be more of a 4-2-5. Maybe the 7th guy in the box will be a big athletic safety/rover type.

They are too light and too slow to be 4-3 DEs.. They are really tweeners, to be honest.

They fit the old mold of fast smaller d ends we used to have. There's no way either Harris or smith are lbs. guys are just saying richt wants fast lbs. taking guys who were d ends and making them lbs isn't the formula.
