Pete,
Is Quantino Allen a GPA casualty? Dude has great speed.

I haven't seen Pete respond to any Quantino Allen questions so my guess is he either doesn't know or there's just nothing there.

Miami just doesn't like him as a prospect but they haven't given a reason

Thanks. There's so much speed there, we can't figure it out.

What do you mean you guys can't figure it out? That's all he is...speed

All he does is runs screens, verts, and slants all day...and his slant routes are horrendous and poorly ran.

If he came here, he would just return kicks

You mean like Hester?

You can coach people to run routes, but you can't teach recruits the speed he has.

that's what coaching is for..

You don't teach a kid to run routes at this point...you refine technique and then add on with giving them option routes to run. Unless they've never played WR before

A Kidd who only runs 2 routes and was taught the simplest of screen plays doesn't belong in high level P5 football no matter how fast

Go watch Mike Harley's tape and then watch his, You'll see a huge difference between him and Quantino

All I know is that we desperately need to add speed and here's a kid who could be used to blow the tops off of defenses for starters. I'd think it's worth a shot given where we're at and what we need...and I'll gladly take Harley too...where's his commitment???

If you all feel that strong about it tweet @r81dugans & MarkRicht to let them know @Tinoo17_17 should be a Miami Hurricane!

I was at the []_[] when Devin was there and have followed his career since. He made a HOF career out of simply having speed (like Allen). That's my point.

I do t know anything about the kid but his offer sheet isn't very impressive. Offer sheets usually tell the story.

I agree With you Pete. Add the Heritage two and we have solved our Oline problem which in my view cost us three of our four losses this year. A good OL makes our running game successful. Make our running game successful makes our passing game successful. Given time to pass our current receiving group will look a lot better.

Yupyup

Add mac with an OL and we fkin

Man the momentum has come to screeching hault

If they can land the Heritage linemen like I think they will, then the rest is gravy IMO.

I'm still considering McFarland as in the class along Harley and Dean flips too.

Pete, no offense, but how is anything gravy when our skill position recruiting has sucked? The WR position went from a strength to a viable ?mark. With the uncertainty at QB next year, not having killers on the outside and slot can spell disaster next year.

BS.

There's former HS QUARTERBACKS playing WR all over college football.

Guess where they learned to run routes..

Baffles me how we recruit a TE from across the country who we have no shot with instead of recruiting a dude in our own backyard who has solid measurables. I understand that every staff has their own evaluations and such, but c'mon. Even if the staff doesn't think Gamble is as talented as others think, it's better than nothing/depth issues.

It's fking stupid.

This California te is more foolishness by this staff. Kid is not coming. We **** the bed on wr chasing a Georgia kid and a Louisiana kid. Now same thing with te. We will strike out

Just playing devil's advocate, who would we have been recruiting instead of these kids from OOS? Jeudy? We stayed on him. A bunch of kids the staff thinks are JAGs or don't have the grades? That's how you stay 8-4.

Agreed, that's why every fast player has a HOF career as a returner in the NFL.

I think they got lazy recruiting WR's. Look at the commits and targets.

I'm excited to see Anthony McFarland jr.

Should be after -

Gamble
Davis
and Deandre Johnson

Heard story that Gamble and staff had some friction regarding his recruiting or lack of some time back and it has carried on.
