**The Hurricanes need speed and immediate help at receiver next season with Stacy Coley gone. One name that fits that bill is JUCO WR Marquise Brown from College of the Canyons in Cali. Brown is originally out of Hollywood, Florida and graduated from South Broward HS. The speedster is over 1000 yards and 10 touchdowns on the season with two games left on the schedule. He was offered by USC over the weekend on his visit and has also recently been offered by UNC, Tennessee, TCU, Oregon and West Virginia. Miami is inquiring about him behind the scenes, but they better move quickly with the way his recruitment has heated up. Brown told me that Canes WR coach Ron Dugans contacted him two days ago and told him that he wanted to get to know him better.

**If DeAndre Wilder visits Miami, it will be in the offseason. He does not have anything scheduled with them as of now. I’ve heard that Auburn leads for Wilder at the moment and he is a take for the Tigers. The Carol City linebacker has already visited Auburn officially as well.

**Amid talk that 2018 Canes commit Joshua Jobe has Alabama as his leader, both him and fellow 2018 commit Gilbert Frierson were at practice last night. The Crimson Tide have been on Jobe hard for months. Columbus alum Mario Cristobal using his ties at the school to his advantage, but this is a prospect that Miami must not lose. This is Jobe’s final season playing high school ball due to his age, but the next year and change will be an absolute roller coaster to follow his recruitment. He is most likely headed to a prep school up north.

**The number one overall target on Miami’s board for 2018 is Southridge wide receiver Mark Pope, according to sources. After having watched Pope live multiple times this season and over the summer, he is definitely a must-get. Pope is heavily regarded by Alabama and they hope to plunge into south Florida for yet another elite receiver prospect (Amari Cooper in 2012, Calvin Ridley in 2015, and Jerry Jeudy in 2017).

**Keep a close eye on Jordan Cronkrite, who is no longer with the UF program and there could be potential mutual interest between him and Miami. Cronkrite was a former Miami commitment in the 2014 class of running backs that once boasted Mark Walton, Dexter Williams, Jordan Scarlett, and Cronkrite. He ultimately signed with the Gators and has been their #2 running back this season. Nothing is guaranteed, but Miami is looking into the situation.

**The Hurricanes remain the leader for running back Anthony McFarland.

**Defensive end commit D.J. Johnson has made some spectacular plays during his senior season. The clips below are from a game two weeks ago.

**Freshman corner Malek Young projects as a starter next season in place of graduating Corn Elder and Adrian Colbert. Young saw meaningful snaps against Notre Dame last weekend and his role has gradually increased throughout the season. Sheldrick Redwine is expected to hold the other boundary corner spot in 2017. Trajan Bandy has had a superb senior season at Columbus and will be the frontrunner to win the starting nickel spot. Miami expects Bandy will be an immediate contributor on special teams as well. His quick twitch ability is highlighted below.

Trying to change up the narrative from pursuing Cronkite as a RB...wasn't Cronkite considered an ATH who could play both sides out of the ball coming out of West Minister and some here saw he had a higher ceiling playing DB. Considering how short we are on the spot couldn't that be the reason we are going after him?

I don't remember much of his tape but someone that is more familiar with him can expand on him possibly playing DB if we really are interested?

This is only thing that would make sense , bringing him in at rb makes no sense .

He was. Not sure if he fits the "rangy" type S we need to add. Hard to believe they want him at RB unless they feel Mcfarland isn't coming and one our current guys is going to transfer/declare/or switch positions. Literally all 5 of our Rb's are a question mark

Yearby declare? Dumb, but dumber **** has happend.
Gus transfer? Clearly he's not in the coaches plans.
Gray? Kid is not a miami RB. Position switch or transfer.
Walton? Terrible vision, no idea what other position he could switch to.
Homer? Want him at RB but could end up being the rangy safety we need.

Hopefully Jobe can keep his priorities in order. Seen a lot of talent lose their way in his position.

Can we focus on 2017...the next three months is extremely critical to UM's future success, not 2018 and beyond kids...

Alabama owns South Florida pretty much sums up the works and it has nothing to do with our staff. Money talks!!!

Program better start paying or our fan base better change our expectations.

Some of the dudes on this board have no gratitude. Peter Ariz gives us this info for free and you complain like petulant children. If you don't like it jump off the board and give Gary Vermin your money.

Thanks, Pete. Always appreciated.

Pete you think we go after a Juco CB or another 5th year senior ? I don't see why we wouldn't go after another veteran CB .

I appreciate Pete he does a great job. Best in the business and he should charge for this site.

But Miami is not going to be great again until we get the top players which we can not do.
