UT is a mess, but it is not a place where you can afford to fail. UT, Bama, and THE U are places where you suck if you lose and everyone knows it. Coaches do not get prime HC jobs, if any, after failure at those places. You slide into the darkness.

I have relatives in Austin and the rumor mill there (for what little rumors are worth) is that if Texas loses the last two games Strong might be gone especially since the 2016 recruiting class for Texas looks like sh*t and hardly the kind of class that will turn things around in the future. That said I don't want Strong at Miami except as a DC.

Might as well fire him now. Their next two games are against Texas Tech and Baylor.

Those are two very high powered offenses that can score falling out of bed. Texas, on the other hand, cannot score.

At all.

I think UT caught OU on a bad day, and OU has been rolling ever since...

These last two games have the chance to be VERY ugly.

Strong is dumb for taking the texas job. Most coaches in the state of texas in cfb have deep ties to the state. Strong didn't have any ties and wasn't a big enough name to make a splash there immediately.

And, most importantly, he wasn't a good enough HC to get even decent results.

Mack had no Texas ties. In fact, he was very similar to Strong. He had some reasonable success at UNC, maybe even less success than Strong. He had a couple position coach jobs in the Big 8 or whatever it was, but nothing in Texas.

Strong aint getting fired. Texas is going to give him at least one more year.

Even if that's the case, he probably sees the writing on the wall. Better to get the **** out while you still have a job than to wait for the inevitable.

Strong had powerful boosters speaking out against him publicly when he was hired. He was fighting a whole different battle.
